Yep. Just like the title suggests I love a beautiful dog and realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but let's be honest people, some specimens are just prettier then others 😮,,,,

I attended the NASS years ago and saw the cream of the crop as far as what Showlines had to offer and I fell in love! My male is from Mittelwest kennels and he's quite the handsome boy, but not suitable for sport etc ,,,

While attending the NASS there were a couple Working line dogs there ; dark sable if I recall, and with beautiful conformation.Truth be told I liked them the best ,,,

I say all of the above to give you all an idea / a picture of what I'm looking for. .,,,I've kind of all but given up hope of finding a Showline with the pedigree to support working ability ,,,

"HE"  wants a "beast",,,, lol just being a bit silly here. but basically a serious working dog with a proven pedigree that we can do IPO with.

We are doing our own foot work, but he agreed to let me post a thread here asking for opinions knowing full well how things can go here when these topics are discussed ,,

Anyway, I'd like feed back in the way of kennels or breedings happening now that would fit the description I've provided above ,,, and of course the "token" scolding for the "vanity" in my wanting a beautiful  dog! ,,,,I welcome everyone's opinion! Even VK's,,,,;)

There are a lot of drop dead gorgeous workingline dogs out there. That said, I find most showlines clunky and ugly. I would never own a dog I didn't find attractive as I am going to be spending a whole lot of years living with it. Not hard finding a good looking workingline pup that your husband can do sport with. Look around to find a good breeder with healthy, workable dogs first.

I always make sure the structure is of very high standard good head . If the breeder keeps the standard and the pedigree is right there is no reason why u wont get both .

Swarndu ~ point taken :) and that's exactly what "he" says too,,,He tells me that there is nothing more beautiful then a dog that can work!

I disagree,,,, hence the reason for my thread ,,,,😬

Why is this even an issue?! There should be no shame in being choosy!

It is not that hard to find a good-looking dog who can work. It's really not. The problem occurs when people breed without checking ALL the boxes, not just "good looking" or "works well." Then, it gets worse when the two sides scoff at the other side. The effort would be better spent improving your own dogs and being pickier in selection of breeding stock in the first place. Compensate if you find a super dog who has a physical flaw. Better not to let too much slip on the temperament side and fix physical flaws by careful breeding. Yes, they are more expensive (talking about importing adults) when they are the "total package" type (ie, titled, top pedigree, breed surveyed, etc.) but they are not the unicorns people make them out to be!

hello Jenni!

I just want my best chance at both ! It's a crap shoot at best I know !

I want names my friends ; I want pedigrees and PROOF!

I want someone to step out and say, "yes, I have a breeding / and here is the pedigree and here is a video of the parents at work ,,,, is that asking too much!

Having grandparents / great grandparents that have proven themselves is not good enough. I want to see mom and pop strutting their stuff with my own eyes ! Videos. If I had a good working animal ( and I did have some nice show horses ) I would have videos up the wahzoo! And I did and was proud to show them off!

Make sense?

My thread is not about "if" there are great looking working lines ,,, or showlines that can work, I am asking for names ,,,, I'm interested and want to know what's out there today.

Again, we are doing our homework, but I enjoy posting here and getting others opinions ,,,,
