A friend of mine is buying a puppy from this combination, Atlas vom Wizards Hof X Bonnie vom Hexenmeister. I would like some opinions on this breeding and some input on Atlas progeny. Thanks in advance, Melanie

My email address is Mbecker1@ptd.net. My apologies if I was out of line asking this question. I would just like some info in an effort to learn more about the breed and bloodlines.

It should be OK to ask such a question. This is how people learn. No apology needed.

GSDfan, Perhaps you should take a look at what Atlas really looks like before the Photo Shop artists at Altenberger Land get a hold of the photo. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/GSD/atlas.jpg He has nice structure, but nowhere near the pigment or top-line that has been drawn in. He has done some winning at the club level. Most of his progeny are too young to be given a fair assessment. He is being used predominantly by the Altenberger Land Kennel and friends of theirs in the hope of establishing a progeny group. He is a borderline plush/long coat hence many of the top kennels are shying away from him. Whether he will be a good producer and throw long coats remains to be seen.

Geez,It kills me to do this but I have to agree with Hunter, the dog looks like a nice dog but there is a HUGE difference between the two pictures.Maybe something to keep in mind if buying a dog sight unseen and just from a picture?

I actually saw a video shot of Atlas and he had longer hair than whats on http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/GSD/atlas.jpg. I admit that i was judging on the wrong picture but he is almost a longstock coat. He also looks pretty choppy on that picture, like if the breeder was hiding the fact that he has longer coat??? Does anybody have a better quality pictures of atlas besides Blurry pictures?!?!?! In my own opinion if you want to breed and focus more on an Ando son I suggest focusing more on Boy vom Tönsbrock, who i think is better than Atlas, of course. The last i heard of Boy was located in CA, USA. go to http://zwinger-vom-toensbrock.de/Boy_vom_Tonsbrock/boy_vom_tonsbrock.html to learn more about Boy.

Hi Brittany, Thanks for the kind words about Boy. He is enjoying the good life in Southern California with us! I have had Shepherds my whole life and I have to say he is one in a million. We are so grateful to Norbert Schleuter (previous owner) and Ralf Habrock (breeder) for such a wonderful dog! I am trying to learn how to build a website for my work so I practiced by putting one together for Boy - www.vaboy.com, if anyone is interested. I just got it published so it may not be up for another week or so. We are off to the Canadian Sieger show where Boy will be entered - any chance you will be there? Thanks again for the nice words, Debbie and Larry
