Opinion on IVD Neutral Formula for K9 - Page 1

One of my dogs has been having itching issues for a few weeks, we have tried several other foods, including RAW but nothing has helped, so today the vet put her on IVD Neutral Formuala. Anyone used this before or have opinions? Thanks in advance Kari and Fur Kids

Our dog had skin issues, itching, hot spots, we changed foods and he was on an antihistimine for awhile.....the vet said it probably was food, but if it doesn't stop then it could be allergic to an inhalent. Such as pollen etc..same as humans...so we gave him the anithistimine and he is fine...we switched to a lamb and rice formula because he had never been exposed to lamb before and he was fine for awhile until the antihistimines were gone & started itching again...so he thinks it's an inhalent.. lucky us.. I don't think I've ever seen "Neutral" much less used it, but my very allergic dog has been on IVD Vegetarian for 2 years. She loves it (altho not today - she got very sick y-day and was trapped in her crate w/vomit a long time I guess; we think she is offended by the smell now and won't eat). Anyway, the Veg did her good until the inhalent allergies caught up w/her (after puppyhood). We don't dare try meat-based still cuz she's so itchy we wouldn't know if the meat food would be part of it. She's loved the Veg and does well on it (mass, energy, etc), so we haven't bothered venture yet.

The neutral has duck in it, only 18% protein, She is not to happy about eating it, she picks at it, but she has no other option. I guess I will know more when we go to the vet on Wednesday for skin tests and etc. Is 18% protein enough for a high energy dog?? Our other food had 27%. Kari
