I know, I know! *horrible person* I don't even like it when people choose for standard colors. *horrible hypocritical person* :/ Maybe I will change my mind when the 3 dogs I am working in IPO kill me lol.

I've no desire to breed for off colors in the GSD, I really like the dark black pigment.  But, there have been times I've admired off-color GSDs who were stunning in photo.  When it comes to other breeds of dogs that I'm not involved with (like the dobes) the off-colors don't bother me one tiny bit, I've seen some that I thought were awfully handsome.
If the color isn't directly related to health problems, like the double-merle, then I really can't see why it's an issue at all.
I do have a problem with crossing breeds to "introduce" a new color to an already established breed, or to pretend that it's a color that the breed already had.

If your off-color dogs kill you, it'll be too late to change your mind LOL

Hope it goes well, I do think Steve House would be worth getting in touch with.

magdalenasis, I am going to warn you, the white doberman here in America suffers very bad issues! VERY BAD ISSUES. I met three of them, from different breeders and every single one of tem was bling by 4 years old. two passed by 5 due to really bad health one had to be put down by 6 cause it developes some itching problem and the dog was scratchin itself to death.

One nice couple has now a white doberman puppy, this puppy is already expressing signs of altered hearing and some skin problem. They wanted a white one, got an albino.

I will still help you with raising the puppy for few weeks if you want me to, however I will fully document the state of the puppy when it arrives here byt a vet and you wil have to deal with consequences if I can't get it on international flight if there is a health problem.
Please think about it. I know of three really GOOOOOOd Doberman breeders, none of them has whites but you might get lucky to get a brown one.
Martina
