I have purchased a purebred male German Shepherd Dog 6 weeks ago and he has been eating twice a day. He is current and up to date on all vaccines. He is Little over a year old. About how long till he should start showing some weight gain ? I'm guessing he is about...60-65 lbs right now...

Personally, that is small for a 1 yr old male.  I have a 6 month old male who is 66# right now.  Most adult 1 yr old males should be 75-85#, but this is my opinion.

It all depends on the dog...

His Frame...His Build...etc...

I've had dogs (males) that are 75 lbs by 7 to 8 months old...and I've had ones that are only 65 lbs by that age and all the way up to 1 year of age...
Males will mature more slowly then Females...I don't worry abou it as long as the dog is well proportioned for his frame...

If he Looks good...Acts good...Eats good...has Energy...and is Pooping good...Then I wouldn't worry about him...

If he looks and acts healthy I wouldn't worry about the weight.  My 4 year old male is 70lbs and people usually guess he's 80-90lbs (so he *looks* masculine and substantial).  My younger male working line just topped 70lbs at 22 months.  He's been about 68lbs for a year even though he eats several times a day.

I personally like that weight on a young male if he has a smaller frame and not malnourished obviously.
