Hi all I'm a total newbie and would like some advise please! I'm looking to buy a maybe 4/5 month male German shepherd from a reputable breeder in europe. I live in the uk and I believe the shipping is less traumatic for the dogs on shorter flights. More importantly my criteria is as follows; West German show line although must have a good prey drive , as i would like to compete with him and take him through shutzhund gradings he must be off solid mind with both testicles desended. Would prefer pink papers and would prefer a substantial build physic. Mostly would like a breeder that is not going to con me! I also realise that breeders won't necessary sell their best youngsters but hoping there is a few that I can correspond with . All your help will really be appreciated, please provide any contacts that you personally dealt with. Regards Chris Chapman

Why do people want showline dogs to do Schh?

magdalenasis... why not?

Good luck on your search...

My search is done with a WL pup thankfully! I always wonder why people want dogs bred for pretty to do work. Just curious. The backs and conformation of a lot of showline dogs would never be able to jump a 10' fence for example. A SL dog will do the work in prey drive which is great and fun for it but not what I personaly am looking for (I do think they are pretty).

You generalize too much.

However undervalued it may have become, I'd respectfully remind people that all dogs Shown in Germany have to have at least minimum SchH qualification.
