Works for me Yellowrose. Are you having copy problems to your hard drive?
Or are you saying previous downloaded picts no longer load?

(I assume YOU know of the size limitations when downloading to this site?)

Bee:

Last night I pmed HEAD  man and no reply but I just wrote a post here and bye bye it went so I will try again to get this one up
I have dial up and it is effected by programs written for dsl or high speed internet.

I have neither...I run on mule molasses...But  my other site I load pics on was ok last night only this SITE had the problem

the message I got said..."It was not possible to complete the Request due to the file system permission restrictions...

do not know what that meant
I can load now  I tried it on the other post that went to space.

MY yellowrose emblem now loads as yesterday it would not...I have been posting pics for 4 yrs so Yes I do know how to do that...real well...I may not know how to screen shot or do other things but I can load pics...it is my favorite thing to do and I knew something was  wrong...today it seems to be fixed.

..hmm..i got a free GSD puppy 2 years ago, she was a front yard drop off....few thousands dollars later in hip surgery, supplies, training later she had cost me 4 times the amount of my 2 other dogs combined....so be careful what you wish for. :)

although now i would not trade her for the world..

if you cannot afford to pay for a dog, than you cannot afford to feed it or to give it proper veterinary care........

by workingdogz on 15 July 2012 - 13:07

Huh laugh
We've know of many many titled and even koered registered
SchH3 dogs & bitches given away.

It happens a lot within the sport, handlers focus on the next
up and coming dog, and perhaps are at their limit for dogs.
They find a super home for the retired dog.
Breeders will often do the same with retired breeding bitches.

I believe one of the very posters on this thread did just that with
a SchH3 Czech showline bitch purchased in whelp.
The same one the breeder was going to love on forever, keep
forever and learn Schutzhund from after whelping her last litter.
Out with the old, in with the new right?!

Sometimes a very nominal fee is asked, but most that seek
good retirement homes for their retired sport/breeding dogs
look for just that, a super home where the dog can be #1.
Sometimes these older dogs make it back out to a club and
teach a newbie how to do 'schutzhund lite' too.

I don't think it has anything to do with 'affording' vet care etc.
I think it has to do with an individuals morals and values.
They could have all the money in the world and not give two
shits about a dog, even if they paid for it.

How many titled dogs have ended up in some sort of life
ending drama right here on this board?
Amanda Canyon, wasn't there another bitch too?
A Tom daughter Adrie? How about Hessel, Sam,
Athos haus Sevens, Vinetta Karthago?
There was even a couple WUSV dogs in that bunch?
And thats not even any sort of complete list, thats just
a few of the more recent ones.

They ended up dead, starved, abused, neglected etc.
Those dogs were all sold.
In fact, they were sold/traded several times, like used cars.

No one every showed them an ounce of devotion or loyalty at
the end did they? And these same people will still whine, piss
and moan about 'poor ______', but they had no problem selling
the dogs did they?

The same fate has happened to many 'used up' V/VA showline
dogs and bitches too, this is not just a working line problem.
This has happened with DDR dogs as well, no 'type' is immune.

And those dogs were purchased for big bucks and
cast aside/dumped/sold when they were no longer the
flavor of the month, or pumping out puppies etc.

I'm betting a lot of those dogs would have rather chanced
a 'free to a good home' situation

Workingdogz-that is the best, most accurate post I EVER read.

by jra on 17 July 2012 - 14:07

Our GSD was "free" because someone asked us if we were interested in taking their dog.  We'd always thought of getting a GSD at some point, but hadn't pursued it yet.  Obviously, we were interested (knowing that she needed a home only made us want her more) and she has proven to be a wonderful addition to our family.  She's not registered/titled/trained etc., but she's a great pet and we've not regretted our decision once.  We haven't had the same problems to the same degree that the other owners had and have been able to work through 'issues' fairly well.  Folks are right about the expense, although ours has just been routine care/maintenance thus far.

VKGSDs

I got a free GSD, working line, nice pedigree.  She was my first dog, and my first GSD.  Her picture is my avatar.  I got her from a breeder when she was 3.5 years old.  I think she had one litter, maybe two, and was spayed.  I was applying to rescues, looking for an obedience or agility prospect when someone involved in rescue saw my application and knew of this dog that might be available to the right home.  She hooked me up with the breeder and I was given the dog.  She's a great dog.  I learned a ton from her.  I put about 12 different titles on her including agility and some different types of obedience.  She is now almost 9 years old but looks and acts the same as the day I got her at 3 years.  Both of her parents lived to be 12+.  I have retired her from formal training and competition and she normally lives with a friend in a quiet home in the country where she is a spoiled pet getting a 3-5 mile walk several times a week (she loves just going for walks/hikes), but we still consider her my dog/my responsibility.  She lacked the confidence to be a good Schutzhund/bite sport prospect but she's a super tracker and we did various types of obedience.  The breeder showed her in the UKC so she was a UKC Champion before she was spayed and then I showed her for fun in the altered class (below).  She's very healthy, I think the only thing she saw the vet for was a limp in front (vet removed something that had gotten jammed up into her foot) and a staph infection she got from itching after some idiot came and sprayed chemicals all over my lawn because he didn't have the address right, so she wasn't one of those "free" dogs that's cost thousands.  So yeah I guess you can get a nice free GSD but I woudn't expect to find a dog like this on Craigslist.

VK,
You might be surprised what ends up on places like
'Craigslist' etc.

Sometimes free, sometimes for a quick couple hundred.

For that matter, I believe Amanda and the other female
('Adrie'?) were both on CL-  smiley
