Hello, I am going to start this with first stating that I am American. Currently I live in England, I have 3 GSDs, 2 females and 1 male, I am a breeder here in England. I will be moving back to the USA, I would like to know what would be the best kennel club to register my dogs with and second what is required in order to continue breeding in USA. And no I do not breed for money as some people I have spoken to tend to jump automaticly to that conclustion before I state any question regarding breeding. I breed mainly for the love of the breed and the fact that they have so many abilities. One from my first litter is now in a RAF camp in New Forest.Others from previous litter have done very well in obedience trials. I am new to breeding and would love to learn as much as possible, I only want to continue with the correct knowledge. Is there anyone willing to help me by answering my questions?

USA is the breed organization that can offer FCI compliance and affiliation. It also conducts many trials and breed shows, breed surveys, etc. through local clubs. www.germanshepherddog.com

The AKC is the recognised registry in America. UScA paperwork will not be of any use to you with whites, they will only issue papers based on the SV standard. Although most of us have some issues with AKC, they are THE registry body and the one that most people over here associate with purebred dogs. UKC will register whites, and I think that they even recognise whites as a seperate breed. Try www.AWSAclub.com that seems to be the White Shepherd people in this part of the world. I know they are shown in UKC and DQ'd in AKC conformation, I think that you can register and do everything but breed ring in AKC. UKC seems more welcoming to rare and "special" breeds, like the whites. Good luck! Lorri
