Obama-EPA Moving Quietly to Impose Gas Tax
Washington, D.C. - Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, commented on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) plan to propose a Tier 3 rule on vehicles in March and finalize it in October. These Tier 3 standards will cause gasoline prices to rise up to 25 cents a gallon.
"I am disappointed but not surprised to learn that the Obama-EPA is moving forward with yet another regulation that will cause prices to go up at the pump. This regulation, the Tier 3 standard, will raise gas prices up to 25 cents a gallon on every American," Senator Inhofe said. "The Obama regulatory assault on affordable energy continues. This is the last thing hard working American families need."
"EPA does not have to do this: its Tier 3 standards are entirely discretionary. Furthermore EPA is not moving forward in an open and transparent manner, to the point that a bipartisan group of senatorsjoined this month to ask EPA to address the many problems with its Tier 3 rulemaking process.
"Once upon a time, President Obama vowed not to raise the gas tax until the economy recovers. If this is what he calls economic recovery, we are in big trouble."

Tier 3 is nonroad deisel equipment.  Shame on the administration for trying to keep the air we breathe as clean as possible.  Why don't you explain to us how this would increase the cost of gasoline to the average citizen?  I know how it might, but I'll leave it for you to cut and paste from somewhere.   Here is where your last cut and paste job came from....

Yeah, it's funny that when someone tells the truth about all the problems Bush caused, Sitasmom says it was congress, but now everything is Obama, like the Republicans don't control the house. And when we talked about the Real Estate crashed the other day, IT was all democrats, so I guess Newt Gingrich is a democrat. All you F... Republicans just want to have big corporations squeeze the middle class, poor people, eliminate unions and talk crap. When have any of you fought for our kids and grand kids future environment, all you wanna do is privatize government so your money friends can control everything. Why don't you say that Bush came up with the free trade agreements so all the corporations will take USA jobs internationally, this is why the economy will not recover, because on top of that, these corporations don't pay taxes. IMO any woman should be ashamed to back up Republicans,as they want to take your right to decide to have a pregnancy, even in the most difficult situations;after I saw my wife delivering and all the sacrifices up to that point and after, NOBODY has the right to tell a woman ANYTHING, if she wants to terminate a pregnancy. So Republicans say too big government, but not when it comes to control women's right to having a baby ??

Funny, no mention of the tax Obama proposes that will tax those who make a million or more, yes a million or more in income, to pay a 30% tax so that the middle class and working poor will not have to make up the differences anymore.  Funny Sistasmom, no mention of that taxation or the fact that Obama wants the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans to end in 2012.  But then again, I voted for Hilary......

I asked once before does anyone know how much tax middle class Americans pay? I have always wanted to know but can never get straight answers from the net.  We just got a new charge ( not a tax) in Canada.  Our hydro is on a 2 tier system and those of us with electric heat get nailed!  My hydro (electric) bill was over 700.00 this month!  I will be putting a wood stove in next year.  Thats just crazy money. Same bill last year was just over 200.00 eeppp.

Welcome to our life Americans.  We Canadians are taxed to death, and  pay through the nose for gas.
$1.28/L for diesel now that everyone practically has bought a diesel.
Before, when we all had gas vehicles diesel was dirt cheap, now it is .10 +/L more than gas, go figure.
Up go the trucking costs, and up goes the cost of food and everything else that needs to be trucked.

brynjulf we (Ontario) are on the smart meter system for hydro.  Discounts for holidays and weekends (not as much of a discount in the winter) and you save according to what time of day you use your hydro.
7pm-7am of course is the lowest rate.

Although I do my best to use it at lowest peaks I  haven't noticed much savings.  My hydro bill last month was $290.

In America (Texas)..

we pay approx 35% of income to federal tax.
another large amount goes to state and local taxes.
and there are also many unseen taxes paid to federal, state and local also..
Another large portion of income is taxed to or retirement, medical..

i'd say that if all the taxed were added up we would be paying close to 50% in taxes right now.

taxes will go up due to government overspending and nationalized health care....we just waiting...

gas prices are lower, but only for a while..environmental groups stop us from building new gasoline plants or drilling in most places... and stopping from putting in pipelines....

electricity bill in the summer is over $400 a month, in winter we use natural gas so the electricity bill goes down.

environmental groups will not allow for any hydro plants to be built.
environmental groups are forcing the closure of electrical plants so our rates will also be going up.

food prices are through the roof also.

Correct me if I'm wrong sitasmom, but I thought Texas doesn't have a state income tax?  Also, to be taxed at a 35% rate, which is the highest possible rate,  you'd have to make $388,000+ a year....maybe you do.
