I was curious if you guys would like to use the TOS as the rules to the OT forum? This is more a vote than a reasons why or why not thread. So, what I am looking for is a simple yes or no answer. I am not so much interested in the why or why not as I am pretty sure I have a grip on the pros and cons of using the TOS here.

Abstain.

Don't mind one way or the other.   If implemented,  will try to work within TOS (but then I usually do).

I think you should have started the "why" thread first, to hash it out and hear all viewpoints.  Then you should take a vote.  JMO

If one good discussion results from 100 threads that go south, something is accomplished.  The best we can hope for is understanding where the "others" are coming from and there have been a few break-throughs.  There aren't many places to vent as the entire internet has TOS, so if we can vent here, who's being harmed, really?  When it comes to actual attacks or threats, that's different, but we really don't have too much of that here.  It's squabbling, which proves we are a family, after you scrape off all the mud :)

i would have to read the TOS first, err, i mean, i think their should be just a minimum standard of ettiquette that you would expect IRL.

the over the top abusive name calling eg ML foul antics disgrace and degrade, the board, the person saying them, the person they are directed at and anyone unfortunate enough to read them.

in the name of decency they should not be allowed to stand, and repeat offenders should be moved along to somewhere that their contributions will be more appreciatted.

i think out of context overt political statement eg degrading images of the POTUS  is not good for the board either,  allowing them could give the impression that the board owner and general membership who don't challenge them are agreeing or promoting them.

I may not agree with what's said, but I'll defend anyone's right to say it.

Now that I know there is no TOS on off topic I have no problems with that.  I have the ability to post or not post depending on content of thread and direction of threads.  I am not obligated to respond if it takes a direction I don't like.   and so should any one else
