In the horse world we have something called "clinics",,Well known trainers from around the country offer a weekend or week long clinics / seminar for horses and their riders. Its a time to work on specific issues or just general training and brushing up. It's a nice time to get away and focus on working with your partner without distractions of everyday life. Also, it has the added benefit of meeting others with similar interests and issues, Is their such a thing in the canine world?...Specifictly GSD,, but it doesnt have to be GSD specific,,,Just thought I would throw it out there and see,,,thanks,,:)

The GSD world has them also. They are all over the country.

Yes, usually referred to as "seminars".  Very common in Schutzhund/IPO and agility!

I would love to go to a Matthew Twitty competition obedience seminar - I really love his writing.

Seeing Kelly sounds like a great idea.

In general, seminars have working spots (with your dog) and spectator spots (you leave your dog at home).

Although I see them advertised, I personally wouldn't attend a behavior modification seminar for aggression issues. I really think you need to work one on one with an experienced trainer who can assess when your dog is ready for distractions, such as a neutral dog, experienced person, etc., to be introduced at a specific point in time in a controlled environment.
