  • I like the email notification on pedigree changes. They should be open with mods able to see who modifies all . If a false entry is made that gives us breeders of the dog we birthed to notify the Admin that we have a problem and produce proof

Thanks

I can't wait for this feature. Mainly for PMs and pedigrees but I may also use it for threads I am interested in.

Sorry but it'll take a few more days.   The weekend was filled with more "you gotta do it" than I thought (or remembered, which is why it's good for me to have a wife).

Stuff like the confirmation of my niece and concert I didn't remember buying tickets to ( we have these 4 brothers, that sing old Icelandic folksongs and have never had any formal training.  Old-skool stuff  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWwCy1gJgeo  )

Oli, the song was beautiful! Incredible voice! I'm afraid I didn't understand the content, but musically it was strong but soothing, poignant but restful.

Thank you for this new option, I would certainly like to know if anyone changes my dogs pedigrees. And I have had difficulty noting when there are PMs, so that notification would be helpful....

Thank you for all you do here, this site is an incredible gift to all dog lovers. Really, it's hard to express how grateful I am....thank you.

The email notifications are up for pedigrees.  (pedigree modification, picture update, extra information and breed report).  parents do not trigger notifications.

Oli,

wouldn't it have made more sense to lock all standing pedigrees and make changes only with administration approval?

I assume you already create back-ups of pedigree data on a regular basis?????

Considering the importance of the pedigree data to the website itself.

Second only to the members who use and support the site.

It would be a great tragedy should membership drop off, financially and socially.

Pedigree's may be the attraction, but members pay the bills, something to think about.

Two Moons.

I already tried to get this approved, I don't think you realize the amount of changes that take place daily on 1.8 million pedigrees. Pretty sure we don't have the staff it would take to keep it caught up.

Of course you did.

Your here all day every day surely you have the time, might be like killing two birds with one stone.....

I'm sure after a given length of time a pedigree would be considered valid and accurate and would not need to be changed period.

Like locking out the edit option on forum posts based on time.

I'm sure there is a simple solution to the problem of pedigree security.

Moons,

I am actually here less than 4 hours a day. Even if I was here 24/7 I have very little to do with the pedigrees.

I have suggested several times that pedigrees get locked and have been shot down each time.  I do think it will eventually happen but not like you may want it to be.
