From The Kennel Club Calendar and Stud Book (U.K.), Volume I, 1874:
655. Grove Nettle.—The Hon. T. W. Fitzwilliam's, Wentworth, Woodhouse, Rotherham; breeder, Mr. W. Merry, huntsman to the Grove hounds (also owned by Captain Kindersley and Mr. Murchison); born 1862; colour, white, with orange tan marking on head and body.
Pedigree: By Merry's Grove Tartar out of Rev. W. Handley's Sting.
Chief Performanc: Manchester, Belle Vue, 3rd prize (with puppies), 1864.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
