From The Kennel Club Calendar and Stud Book (U.K.), Volume I, 1874:
700. Topsy.—Hon. Thomas Fitzwilliam's; breeder, owner; born 1866.
Pedigree: By Trap (No. 597) out of Grove Nettle (No. 655), by Merry's Grove Tartar out of Handley's Sting.
Chief Performances: Birmingham, 2nd prize, 1867; Manchester Belle Vue, 4th prize, 1871.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
