Thank you. I just read the proposals, and they are very disturbing. Apparently the extension of the president's tenure to 2017 is an absolute violation of the bylaws, and an attempt to get around the bylaw's clear language limiting the  president to two terms.  Oddly, they left that limiting language unchanged.   Oops.

I am going to wait for the movie they make about this .. of course the movie can't be filmed until the actual WDA membership approves any of these PROPOSED changes.  Also it is worth noting that the WDA has an actual one man/woman one vote system in which every member votes so that the membership will actually get a chance to vote yea or nay on each proposal personally.

boo, is your life story a movie ?  I'm thinking a remake of "A dangeruous Mind''  but without all of the math.

#1 - all persons in a Board meeting is bound to secrecy - per Roberts Rules of Order.
#2 - many different topics are talked about, including disciplinary actions - this is why the meetings are closed.
#3 - persons in board meetings can receive disciplinary decisions if they do not keep meeting private.
#4 - in a board session, if changes to bylaws are discussed, the whole board usually brainstorms. its part of the process.
#5 - once brainstorming is over, real proposed by-lay changes will be written and sent out to the membership at large
#6 - proposed by-laws must be sent out at least 30 days prior a vote by members at large.
#7 - members at large have the ultimate decision as to approve or not approve the by-law changes.
#8 - until the official by-law change proposal is sent to members in general, its just a bunch if gossip.

The way in which this topic is being discussed (here and on other forums), reminds me of chicken little is running around in a panic......and the only reason for this is to make the WDA look bad. Now if this is a WDA member doing this (especially leadership), they should realize that laws apply. If this is a GSDCA or UScA member doing this, then once again laws apply.

Well, all of this going back and forth about bylaw changes may not matter.  The GSDCA just this past weekend voted to drop the GSDCA-WDA.  In other words WDA is no longer part of GSDCA.  Now everyone will see how they will stand on their own.  I'm not saying WDA won't stand on their own but, there's no turning back for them now somebody is going to sink or swim!  THE SHIT JUST GOT REAL!

Wallace, without a link to the SV what do you see as the future for the WDA?

Judy,

I personally don't know?  But, if I was on the WDA Board of directors i would not want to be in a position where as I did not know what the future of our organization is.

Unless the GSDCA and the WDA have a stupid and mean spirited rule saying that members of either organization can't be a member of both organizations I don't see a problem .. Nothing changes at all .. just keepin' it real for all the USCA doom sayers.  The USCA is never going to be an AKC member or represent the GSD in the United States in any registration organization other than their own SV rebadged USCA registry.  Now that is when the shit get's real.  The SV and WUSV is not likely to look favorably on the USCA after last years little passion play in which they called the SV/WUSV President a liar and faced having their priviledges frozen or withdrawn if they didn't start obeying the WUSV Constitution and the rules.  If there is a winner in any of this strife between the GSDCA and the WDA I don't see one .. but for sure the USCA is still the turd in the punch bowl for the USA as far as the SV is concerned.  If anything the entire last two years in the USA has shown the WUSV that the entire GSDCA, WDA, and USCA community are just a bunch of stupid children that can't be countrd on to run things without having a sibling temper tantrum.  Of all these groups the WDA is the least troublesome as they ran the WUSV 2013 and brought it in on budget and did a good job.  The GSDCA bit off way more than they could chew and then left the WDA to chew it which they did.  The conflict between the GSDCA and the WDA seems to be over how they did the impossible.  I am liking the DVG or anything not IPO better and better after the 2013 year of cheating by the USCA and the infighting between the GSDCA and WDA.
