60cm female, 3 years old.
V, IPO1, a1 hips and elbows.
What do you think of her?

by Nans gsd on 23 October 2013 - 17:10

Love the showlines;  she seems big to me but pretty nice;  pretty profile and like her overall appearance;  can't tell too much with this picture.  Looks like she has nice rear angulation;  looks a little straight in the front angulation but probably acceptable;  what are you going to do with her?  Nan

Pasterns look good nice front feet/rear feet;  what is her pedigree?

by SitasMom on 23 October 2013 - 18:10

I'm going to play with her, she is only IPO1! I see more titles and breed survey in her future.
She will come bred to this dog, after the puppies, its time for showing and training.

hope to improve shoulder......he's a young up and coming male.

here's another photo of my new girl.....
when she was a bit younger, and in show shape.

How long ago was the first photo taken ?  As she was just off
a litter then;  and if you are receiving her in whelp, has she had
much chance to rest up ?

Quite like the last pic, where, as you say, she was younger and
'in Show shape'.  Pity the grass obscures what her feet are like;
feet look flatter in that one, what you can see of them.  But as
Nan said, they look nice in the more recent photo.  Maybe they
tightened as she matured.

Top size female, good secondary sex characteristics, though;  great
head and expression; correct coat, and depth of pigment.  Excellent
topline into a v.sl.steep croup. Correct underline (taking the milk-bar
into a/c !).  Correct angulation, although as you suggest her shoulder is
a little steep, and she maybe could do with a better front, although that
clearly has improved with age;  and correct leg length.  Correct tail, as far as
I can see it, although maybe a shade too long.  Having to be picky here,
overall a rather nice bitch.

Usual caveats about being unable to assess dentition, temperament,
movement etc from a still photo.

I too would like to hear what her pedigree is;  and also that of the stud,
please, if you don't mind Kim, as he looks like 'a bit of all right', too.  Dog

Large black and tan colored GSD female of correct proportions, medium strong, rich pigment, large and strong head that takes away from feminine look, good earset, ears are slightly large and thick, notable good forehead and stop, loose lips. Short strong neck. Slightly flat withers, good topline, good strong back, slightly short croup (only slightly),good croup position, good tail and tail set. Deep hind angulation, short lower thigh and slightly long hocks, good feet and toes. Good underline, stands straight on fore legs, needs slightly more fore chest development and more angle to the front upper arm but good length and very good shoulder lay back, good strong pasterns. A well built girl.

The male may improve front angulation and add to the croup, hocks and maybe correct hind bone proportions. I find his fore chest projection rather exaggerated but undoubtedly a beautiful male.
Good luck with her.

She is a large, substantial, compact bitch, with very good proportions.
She has a very good topline with a very good hindquarters.
She has very good forehand, where the upper arm could be Sl. longer.
She is beautiful and I wish you every success with her.
