What are the  tastie treats that dogs "just wanna gotta have" ?

I have a puppy that I am working and hot dogs are just not cutting it so I figured I would ask the pros :)

For tracking I use the Natural Balance rolls and chop them into dime sized pieces and the dogs love them. I also use these for obedience training as well. The other treats my dogs love are chicken strips. I just break peices off. I also make sure that the dogs are hungry when I work them.

I've never used food for tracking but I've always found CAT BISCUITS to be perfect for training ob!  The dogs love them, they're the right size, they don't make a mess and you can get different flavours!

I use Pet Botonics Training Rewards or very small pieces of hot dogs.  The training rewards are very small bites, soft but firm and come in different flavors.  They are also very strong in odor which gets my girl's attention and holds it.  Keep the treat you use small because if your puppy has to spend any time chewing it you have lost its attention if only briefly.  Gotta keep their attention on you and the reward.  Good luck!

I like the Natural Balance rolls too but I like to use thinly sliced hotdogs (with pups) when doing obedience training.

I cook a cheap roast and cut it into little pieces when cooled then pack into sandwich size bags and throw them in the freezer.  This way I know exactly what my dogs are getting and I don't have a problem putting them in MY mouth to spit them.

Funny, my dog could care less about hot dogs and he does not have naturally high food drive. Best success I have had are Biljac liver treats (the brown pellets that come in small cartons) and the Zukes Mini's in Salmon flavor.
