You need to be sure you tell them they will be breeding females and that you are a breeder/importer

make sure you have the "duty fee" in cash. for one puppy it was 35$. have you ridentification with you.

make sure that you contact the airport to verify that your puppies are on the flight and that the flight is on time.

Hello
I don't know about Atlanta, but i picked up quite a few dogs from Dallas.
Do  they fly cargo or in a passanger plane?
When they fly cargo. you have to go to the airline first, have your ID on you they give you paperwork to take them to customs. they just asked me if they are K9s (working dogs) but we were there quite often so they didn't ask more. If they are your personal ones tell them. Be honest. They look at the papers and vaccinations, then you get your paperwork back and then you can go back to pick up your dogs.
Be sure to call and see if the flight is on time, be there early, it usually is busy and often they are nice and let you know about life animals. I don't know about Atlant, but they took picks of the people who picke dup the dogs.
I wish good luck and that the pups arrive safe!

you will need a broker to handle the paperwork.. another couple hundred dollars.. but you won't get them without a broker

echo what Denise said.

Atlanta is following the rules to the letter and then some

We have been using Bathco for the last few years.

You will need a broker 100%. Call ahead of time and get a broker. Mine was $200. Also expect the puppies to be delayed, tehy don't care how long your pups are in the crate...

by SKI on 08 March 2009 - 13:03

Nothing was delayed for us the last two times, because we used Barthco.  When Delta tried to delay, Bathco sent someone over to the cargo area and got everything taken care of.  Both times, dogs made the connections.

Ski...It's not up to the airline over the delay but Homeland Security. That who hel my puppy up for 3 hours. Also, Your Delta shipment sounded like a shipment you received from in the US...no need for customs.

I used "Jean Duncan import brokers" in Atlanta. They had every thing cleared and all I had to do was pick up the dog. Don't remember the exact charge and I'm too lazy to look it up, but think it was around $150. Well worth it to me since it was my first experience.
