BEWARE USIMPORTS/SARAH & KEVIN FOX-SCAMMERS/LIARS - Page 1

I AM POSTING THIS THREAD TO HOPEFULLY SAVE OTHER UNSUSPECTING PROSPECTIVE BUYERS FROM BEING SCAMMED OUT OF MONEY AS THESE PEOPLE HAVE DONE TO ME. BACK IN JULY '08 I FOUND AN AD POSTED HERE FOR "GORGEOUS BLK/RED IMPORT MALE, OBEDIENCE TRAINED, OFA HIPS/ELBOWS, AKC, HOUSEBROKEN, ETC"  HE SOUNDED LIKE MY DREAM DOG, SO I CONTACTED THE SELLER, SARAH/KEVIN FOX OF USIMPORTS AND TALKED MORE ABOUT HIM. SHE STATED HE WAS $800 W/O PAPERS, AND IF I WANTED PAPERS IT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $1000. I ASKED HER ABOUT HIP/ELBOW  STATUS, AND SHE STATED HE WAS A-STAMPED NORMAL.  I REQUESTED A BRUCELLOSIS AND SEMEN EVAL BEFORE PURCHASE, AND SHE STATED THAT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $200.  TWO DAYS LATER SHE STATED BOTH TESTS WERE DONE AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL  SO I SENT HER TOTAL $2000 VIA WAL-MART'S MONEYGRAM SYSTEM, PER HER REQUEST. SHE STATED SHE DOESN'T ACCEPT PAYPAL.  AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS OF NOT MAKING SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS, SHE FINALLY SAID SHE WAS GOING TO THE NATIONALS IN LEXINGTON, KY IN AUG 08 AND WOULD JUST BRING HIM ALONG SO I SAID FINE.  I E-MAILED HER SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE 3 WEEKS WAIT, WITH NO MENTION PLANS CHANGED. THE TRIALS WERE THURS-SUN. AFTER NOT HEARING FROM HER  BY SAT, I E-MAILED HER AGAIN AND THIS TIME SHE SAID "SORRY, COULDN'T MAKE IT"  AFTER I TOOK OFF WORK AND TRAVELED THERE TO PICK UP THE DOG. SO I SAID JUST SHIP HIM, AND AGAIN A COUPLE WEEKS WENT BY WITH NO DOG, I FINALLY TOLD HER TO EITHER SEND ME THE DOG OR REFUND MY MONEY, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HE WAS ON A PLANE THE NEXT WEEK.  THE SHIPPING COST SHE QUOTED ME WAS "AROUND $450, AND WHEN I PICKED HIM UP IT WAS $647, BIG DIFFERENCE!  AFTER ASKING SEVERAL TIMES, SHE FINALLY AGREED TO REFUND 1/2 THE SHIPPING COST.  SHE STILL HASN'T SENT IT.  I'VE ASKED MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE TIMES FOR EITHER THE VET RECORDS AND HIP/ELBOW  X-RAYS OR THE VET'S NAME/NUMBER SO I CAN REQUEST THEM MYSELF, BUT THEY STILL HAVEN'T BEEN PROVIDED.  IT IS NOW ALMOST DEC, AND STILL NO REGISTRATION PAPERS THAT I GAVE $1000 FOR, NO BC OR SEMEN EVAL RESULTS I PAID FOR,  NO VET RECORDS, AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONDING TO ANY OF MY E-MAILS ANYMORE. AT ONE POINT SHE SAID "SHE WAS GOING TO KS TO GET THE REG. PAPERS" AND THE NEXT DAY WHEN I ASKED HER IF SHE GOT THEM OK, SHE REPLIED "YES"  WELL, AFTER TALKING TO THE ORIGINAL IMPORTER, SHE NEVER DID PAY FOR THE DOG, NOR DID SHE EVER HAVE HIS PAPERS IN HAND AS SHE TOLD ME SHE DID.  THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS, CHEATS, AND SCAMMERS,  I PLAN ON PURSUING THIS LEGALLY TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW, AND POST ANYWHERE/EVERYWHERE I CAN TO WATCH OUT FOR USIMPORTS OR SARAH/KEVIN FOX,  THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND NEVER GIVE YOU WHAT YOU PAID THEM FOR..    BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

You've posted this unfortunate incident several times, each time saying you're going to pursue it through the justice system - yet it still appears you have not done so.

In the meantime your ALL CAPS rant is beginning to sound hysterical. We're all sorry if you feel you were mistreated: it appears likely you were. Take them to court and be done with it - your wailing here is not helping your cause.

Sorry Shelly, I disagree strongly. The reason that Sarah Fox and others like her can scam people out of money is two-fold. One is that buyers are naive and don't know how to do this without getting scammed. Another is that they honestly don't have a good clearinghouse or method to find out when people are scammers.

This is only one of MANY such cases involving Sarah Fox and I agree that it should be posted everywhere, everytime one cares to do so. It may just help ONE person from falling victim. 

As for bringing justice to someone like this Sarah, she moves over and over again, uses cell phones, and is otherwise difficult to pin down and take to court. There are many in line would would love to do so if they could find her. But for even $2,000, when all is said and done, one cannot spend $5,000 or more to find her and file against her. Even if one could, too often there is only verbal agreement and nothing in writing, no contract etc., and it becomes a "she said, she said" issue. 

Sarah Fox is dishonest and unethical. She has stolen and cheated a lot of people with these petty crimes (not petty to those who got stung) and sadly, there is little anyone really can do but vent.

So the complainant here can try, but in the end, she too will end up giving up and taking it on the chin and in the wallet. Her only recourse is to complain here and elsewhere, and I think she should continue to do so. No one need read it if they don't wish to do so.

This is a very different situation than some misunderstandings that arise between buyers and sellers. It is pure fraud.

I agree, hodie - let the scammers and cheaters be exposed on forums like this one - it might not help get any money back, but it may help someone else avoid the same trap.

Hodie is correct and the same goes for the Fenwald kennel who moved to Texas to scam people here..Illinois had her tune so she had to move out of state..Now her cover is blown , and maybe Karama will keep her case out front. Others on this site have worked to keep her unreputable ethics known and will hope all read the  "ripoff .com and do research before believing a high dollar website that woes gulable buyers into that wicked web.

Hitting them in the pocket book, by warning buyers, is the best way to get back at a dog broker who is crooked.  If you go to court and the results are in your favor, a nice website with the results posted would be way cool..maybe worth the expense of legal fees?  Veronica

At least you only lost a couple of thousand. I figure it cost me over $100K to sort out who I can trust to buy dogs from here and abroad. I wish I had counted how many dogs I picked up at US airports that weren't worth the cost of the crate they were shipped in. Thank God all that is behind me now, so when I go to the airport and open a crate door, what steps out is EXACTLY what I wanted. I try to share the benefits of my bad experiences here, but sometimes it seems that nobody listens to me.

All good points, except Ollie's terms of service for this website specifically prohibit these personal rants. This board has a purpose, and it's not to serve as a megaphone for those that allege wrongdoing.

Sarah Fox may be the devil incarnate, and be people should be warned on the sites that exist for that purpose. But CMills needs to accept responsibility for her actions; using Moneygram to send money to somebody she doesn't know for something she's never seen is ignorant.
 
By simply using a credit card she would have maintained her right to dispute and cancel the transaction through the credit card company. And the $1000 differential for papers is a huge red flag.

I'm very sorry that CMills was allegedly cheated, but this situation was 100% preventable.

I have to agree with Shelly, this is not the site for this posting. From the website terms of usage:

"This forum system is not a venue for personal or private vendettas. Keep your personal business as just that - personal. This forum is not a venue for the resolution of personal disputes with members or companies." 

And it needs to be said that these drama-filled postings condemn by association all of the the responsible breeders that use this site for its intended purpose.

Thank you to all above who agree with me that this person needs to be made out for the scammer/liar she is! Hodie, Eichenluft, Yellowrose, AKVeronica, and SS.  Yes now I know I could have been wiser and "do my homework"  and have surely learned a valuable lesson.  But hindsight is 20/20. So I will continue to post updates/warnings every week to expose this person. I have also filed complaints with any/all agencies I can find, and will continue to make this persons life living hell, I have all the time I need to do so and again, the whole purpose of this to to HOPEFULLY save just one other person from falling prey to this horrible person!  If others who don't care about the welfare of others don't want to read it (ShellyK) then just don't read them!!  Have a great day all others
