Working GSD enthusiasts - I suggest you leave the CONFORMATION of the GSD to the CONFORMATION specialists, the Show enthusiasts :-

Perhaps a campaign should be mounted to introduce a CONFORMATION section into ALL GSD Working Trials - The results to be an integral part of the overall result.

Now that will bring about some HUGE changes in the conformation of Working GSD around the world, and it would definitely in line with the GERMAN BREED STANDARD, without a doubt.

im simply interested in learning why this debate is raging-doesnt bother me much tho i do find it amusing that you jump to the assumption that anyone who is asking questions is batting for the other side-never the basis for a reasoned debate which is where i think  you may be going wrong.i did say rather and resemble-not is a carbon copy of.

Germanic will NOT show under ALSATIAN JUDGES because they know they have an incorrect JUDGE!

It was a question owl01 I was asking which you are refering to? I did not jump to an assumption as stated a Q.

owl... pedigree dogs and natural selection?  C'mon, they're engineered by humans, each and EVERY breed... remember Max?  The German standard should be the World standard imo, why should the standard be written to fit the dog?

It may be worth remembering, that "we" can show our dogs worldwide with success, the same certainly cannot be said of the "Alsatian"/UK type... that kind of tells the whole story really.

I do agree its the KC that is keeping the split going, but they can only do this for so long. They will evolve too,its only a matter of time. Even some of the so called alsationalists are seeing the problems they are facing, the main one being the lack of blood lines. Some are starting to use dogs of German breeding, more will follow given time & proper debate, not slagging off. Their days are numbered but it will take TIME. They are even trying to introduce American lines in their desperation, now THAT IS a departure from their Alsation. All good German Shepherd enthusiasts breed good dogs to the standard, educate the public & the breed WILL become one

Ally

it does not matter what country you live in it is the country of origin that counts the dog is a german shepherd not alsatian we may be british but our dogs are not and if the KC will not accept that then they leave us no choice but to leave the KC
i wonder how many alsatianists still live in the past as far as there health money and living conditions are concerned i can tell you now none of them but they spout about dogs from yesteryear and will not accept that we have all evolved from 1895 including them
