We should all be able to agree that the name of our breed is GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG.
We should all be able to agree that our breed was founded in Germany just over 100 years ago.
We should therefore look to Germany for the breed standard and the manner in which THEY have developed their breed the GSD.
Here is my IMPRESSIONS of the 2007 GERMAN Sieger Show, considered by all countries to be the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW for GERMAN SHEPHERD DOGS.- the largest single breed show in the world.
http://www.videxgsd.com/IMPRESSIONS_SIEGER_2007.htm

You can ALL see the photographs within my article - the arrogance of some, especially the Kennel Club in respect of the BREED STANDARD for the GERMAN shepherd dog, is nothing short of astounding.

This is why I strongly advocate a SPLIT between ALSATIONS and the German Shepherd Dog. Let us get these morons off our backs, let them have their English Alsations, and NEVER EVER let them (Alsations) cross breed with our German Shepherd Dogs. They can keep their LEVEL and DIPPY backs, their crap temperaments, their short front legs, their predominence of weak characters, their overbuilt forechests and all their health problems. THE GSD NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM ALSATIONS, IN THE SAME MANNER WE ARE SEPARATED FROM BELGIUM SHEPHERDS.

The Alsation is akin to a parasite trying to take over the host body of the GSD.

Let us be rid of this parasite!

or put in another way........

Alsations are not German Shepherd dogs..... and so should never be mixed with them.  They have their own standard, and look totally different, and indeed behave totally differently.  To the people that like them, good luck and carry on, but to the people who favour the correct international standard of the German Shepherd - David is right, it really is long overdue that we took steps to get on with our dogs, and let others get on with their Alsations.  This does not affect the way we need to treat each other as people... whether I meet a person in the street that likes "alsations" German Shepherds - they only have their opinion on what they like, so I dont think we need to fight about it.  Lets just do it as amicabl as we can.  Any ideas on how?

I think we'd have to get out of the KC first, Mo.

How does one get the KC to do this?  Is it better to let the Alsatians remain with the KC and for us to go our own way?  Who would be our ruling body if this were done?

Have a look on the KC site with the "new" breed standard,do I take it the picture of an "Alsation" is what they want us to strive to breed!!!!  NO WAY

Then if you care to take a look at the majority of the photos of "The Alsatian Club of GB" Champ. show winners in Our Dogs this week,is this what they want us to breed ?????  NO WAY

The KC refuse to give a class 1 registration to all the weird and wonderful colours they accept, plus all the litters registered without any health checks being done or parentage verified,by unprincipled "breeders" riding on the backs of breeders who breed very carefully and diligently, and strive to improve.
KC sort all these problems out first before trying to alter the standard to suit the BBC and the RSPCA after their totally biased and innaccurate television programme.

The time has now come to seriously think about going our own way under the auspices of the WUSV and the SV.

It does say:  INTERIM (Breed Standard under review until June 2009)

Does that mean that it's negotiable?  Will it be our BC that they consult with?  Even the KC must know that we'd NEVER agree!  How unfortunate for those that have paid their entry fees for Crufts... only to have the Breed Standard changed.  It's pretty outrageous!

This is more than enough reason to SPLIT with the Alsation and the Kennel Club.

Look here and see what these PRIVATE CLUB (KC) members want us to breed:

Absolute ignorance and arrogance personified.

i think the only way for this to happen would be for the sv to take over the registrations and the showing/working of german shepherds  leaving the alsation with the kennel club or the bc could take over the registration of our breed and the running of shows etc which could be done under the european system

Why should changing the breed standard matter?????,  Biggest problem is getting judges to judge to it.!!!!
