GOOD. Take heart - Good, because he's been seen and hurt or not, he's WALKING. So good. Take clothes you've worn: pajamas, shirt, something you've worn recently and smells of you and put it out where the guy saw your dog, somewhere in that area.
If he is limping, the limping may slow him down and keep him in that area, esp. if there are fields where he can hide and water he can drink, so Good again. He may stick around there to rest. Take heart of these things and don't let them get you down. Look at them for the clues and helps that they will be to you in getting Keizer back.
Again, tracking dog or no, don't worry. Get out there with your dogs and watch them and listen. Even if you hear crows or blue jays mobbing something, go check it out. Jays and crows, and crows' voices carry far, will "raise the alarm" when they see a predator, which your dog is to them.
You now have a localized search area. Good again, but don't totally neglect your other avenues just in case that guy was wrong.
You are closing in on finding him. Hang in there! and GOOD LUCK.

Yes, take the dog w/the better nose. If he's hurt, maybe he's lying down somewhere in the vicinity. Keep calling for him.
Praying you find him.

He promises, he didnt shoot him. He said wanted to help him, but his sisters electricity went out, from the storm and her house was flooded. He told us what direction he went and we found a spot in the back with his hair. all over, he is losing his winter coat, it was so muddy, but there were no foot print, we searched and found nothing.
