I'm not upset EQ.

Thats a bit of a generalisation isn't it misbeeb?
No doubt there are a FEW examples of what you class as English breeding out there, just as there are examples of extreme german breeding out there - but the majority of English breeders do not breed to the extreme and probably stay truer to capt Von Stephanitz's vision of a German Shepherd

well, this discussion has been interesting and missbeeb we may not quite agree-i do think that pic of horand is more similar in appearance to the pic of the 'english type'posted earlier-i appreciate the banter with you was much more enjoyable and informative than some other peoples rather savage approach.sadly im off now.will be doing a little reseach and keeping a look out for more on this thread

We'll agree to differ EQ, as I said in a previous post, "we" can show our Shepherds world wide... not something the UK side of things could do and that's not a generalisation, it's a fact!

Obviously, you think what you have is the best... you wouldn't have it otherwise.

At a general CH show last year at Malvern, I saw quite a few Alsatians as I described, with unsound temperaments to boot... the judge gave up trying to see one dogs teeth.  I know they are not all grim and frankly, I'd rather split from the KC and maybe it's not out of the question.

question:-
We have many foreign judges visiting our shores - not only from Germany, but also from Italy, Belgium, Holland, New Zealand, America etc  All of whom judge to the recognised WUSV International standard. What do they do?  If they don't judge to the WUSV standard they will be penalised by the WUSV - if they do, they will be penalised by the KC (?)-  Is this a case of "fog in English Channel, Europe isolated"?

Alyson, I hadn't even thought of that... I've no idea... what a bloody mess the KC has made of things again!

by EgyptianQueen on 18 January 2009 - 21:01

Fair enough misbeeb - i am always willing to listen to the points of view of others - I just take exception to those who feel they can rant and sqawk from their ivory towers, insulting anyone with a differing opinion and belittling all attempts to defend those opinions

Yeah, people get heated but look at the mess the KC have made... as Alyson has just pointed out... what about the foreign judges?  I really think the KC, as it is now, has had its' day... and then some!

by EgyptianQueen on 18 January 2009 - 21:01

Surely you will find that at General Championship Shows the judges are usually accredited by the KC - it is only at Breed Champ Shows that you tend to find foreign judges ???? Please correct me if I am misinformed
