owl, nothing that looks like an Alsatian has ever come out of Germany... that's something "we" did to the breed, just as the Americans did to their showlines.  We have much to answer for!

I apologise for using your photo.

I didnt say anything about your dog.  Both photos I used were taken from the net from a internet search.

Thanks for the photos........

I have a rather stupid question........

If England, Spain, the US, or anywhere else want to change the breed, then why don't they start their own breeds?

One would think that England would be the proper country to decide what an English Bull dog, Newfinland for a Newfinland Water dog..........etc.

If a GERMAN Shepherd is from GERMANY, why do different countries want a GERMAN Shepherd look different?

This whole issue seems to have a whole lot of EGO involved and no common sense......

I have said on another thread, that if we are competing within the FCI system, surely all countries should have the same standards.

How can we compete internationally with different standards?

I find this very interesting - VA list from the beginning until 2007

The breed has changed over the years.

Nope, definately not... the English type is generally very long, heavy, with short legs and a soft back.  The photo Liebe posted (no offence to owner btw) was not that typical.  Quite a few working dogs still look similar tho'.

LOL - Owl01 now don't upset them anymore !!!
