If you would of asked me last year i would have said no to slitting the breed as i thought there were more breeders of the international type than the old english type, and we would eventually come together under are own steam,
(it may have taken a while).
But after the K.C changed the breed standard i can only see the breed going backwards and now i firmly belive we should split the breed before we see more changes in the breed standard.
Also if anyone would like to go to the llink Videx has just posted it is interesting who has not yet voted and the number of wins they have had, I belive they should at least vote even if they are Don't No's.

I don't think they are "don't knows", myfanwy! I think a few may well be, "I'm alright Jacks"! Of course, that does the breed no good atall, neither does it show them in a good light.... but, let's see what post Crufts brings... certainly, everyone should know about the ballot by then!

Lets hope that the folk that are sitting looking at the ballot and the postings here will see that at Gen Ch Shows it isnt that they wont have a chance to enter it is that THERE WILL BE A CLASSIFICATIN FOR THEIR CHOSEN TYPE !!! there are many all rounder judges that prefer the gsd type and we wont be 2banned2 from the gen ch shows - gENcH SHOW OR bREED oPEN SHOW, WE ALL NEED TO GET THE ENTRIES THESE DAYS,..... WE HAVE LOST OUR PLACINGS AT PLACES LIKE LKA for instance....... lets see if we all behave like adults and the breeds are two differing breeds whether one or both is re-instated.

The VOTES are still coming in. The GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG will never become a rare breed.
What is becoming rare, here in the UK are the number of GSD committee.council members and exhibitors who care MORE about the future of our 'true' GERMAN SHEPHERD BREED, and LESS about their show wins, LESS about their perceived status within our breed, and LESS about their personal eggrandizement within our breed and the Kennel Club.
Some of the bullshit I am hearing that is being spewd forth by so called GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG aficionados, as to why the GSD/Alsatian should NOT split, is astounding, misleading and downright disgraceful.
BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS!

a) Who is the ancestor of the Alsation and the Gsd.
b) In what way do they differ.
c) Are these two dogs compatible with the relevant standard.
d) Do they look alike.
e) Are you producing a cross breed or a different animal altogether by breeding these two versions.
