Turkeys are beautiful birds, not just tasty ones, lol.
I noticed the sheen of the feathers in the early morning light as they gathered around the bird feeders...so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few.

Thanks. Bee - the camera/lens combo is more capable than I am but it's nice to have a decent setup for wildlife photography. These pics are taken with a Canon T4i and Sigma 150-500mm lens.
Wild turkeys are not native to this area and they have migrated northward over the years, adapting quite well to the local conditions. There are a lot of them around here, and we have daily 'turkey parades', sometimes with up to a dozen birds, down our driveway, lol.

A tom turkey displaying in the trees of our property. It was late afternoon and the sun higlights his feathers nicely as he was showing off to the hens in the trees nearby. It was the first time I have seen the toms display and it was quite a sight to behold!
