predate multi-cellular organisms??
http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2014/09/25/4093899.htm
and who'd a thunk, the older the life the simpler it is, all made on the same day?

It says 'possible'. They are still guessing, and guessing wrong I might add.
Even still, that is a heck of a leap to humans.

From the fossil discoveries p.o.v. I guess China might be a good place to go.
However I'm not sure I'd like it there, was just reading how the Chinese Communist Party
has taken to financing christianity, e g the £3 million donation to a stadium-sized mega-church
(costing three times as much) @ Nanjing. They apparently hope to dissuade their population
from living selfish, capitalist lifestyles now there is greater access.
RS - still walting for your thoughtful (post-employment) reply - betcha thought a combination of ML
and Fawnda got you off dat hook ?

What are you talking about RS? It is written in evolution Bible or in other words the geologic column in 1800's. Written by man and prophesied by dedicated holy people, and the most important inspired by prophet Charles Darwin. RS please don't question protected state religion.

This was on the page that vk posted. Another interesting article... it's amazing how much they can pinpoint through DNA, it leaves no doubt.
45,000-year-old man was human-Neanderthal mix

if you actually get to know individuals from old cultures like Australian aboriginals, meet them, speak with them, listen to them, live among them then you see clearly how utterly arrogant, pathetically and wilfully ignorant a minority of folks are spruking the earth is 6000 years old cos they read it in a book that is prolly no more than 2000 and something years old.
correction, they did not even read that in their "book" they interpretted it to say that and they are a minority among fellow beleivers of the same book.

GSDTravels,
Yeah, in the lecture on neandertal in the watch home share thread the lecturer says they were the same species, as homo sapiens, so completely compatable. the Media exagerates how different they were likely because it gets people interested.
Some plants and surely some animals actually also have more DNA and could be considered more complex than humans. Ebola is so simple with only 7 genes and it can kill us so easy.
I like the play on the word "Oldest" is all, plus reading a little on diverse life forms.
