After that one that ate the guy sleeping in his bedroom, I admit, it shook me up. And now this! I think I am developing a case of what would you call this? There must be an official term for fear of being swallowed up by a sinkhole while asleep in a corvette?

Had one open up a few block over and a block from my parent's home. Both lanes of the road swallowed. Water flowed out of the sinkhole for a month and they could not figure out where it was coming from. Keep building those highrise condos and hotels that do not have to follow seasonal water restrictions, let the giant commercial (not family) farms run irrigation day and night. Along with the dought we have had these past few years, hmmmmmmm......

8. Fear of sink holes

No name for this rather specific phobia. Sufferers experience fear and unease upon seeing a sinkhole, particularly the glory holes used to drain water from dams. People describe the fear of being unable to see the bottom or of being sucked in. Some even describe the feeling that the sinkhole could be connected to some other terrible dimension, and the sense of an otherwordly force pulling them in.
