Well, these articles don't generate much interest, obviously, but I'll keep on trying. This stuff just fascinates me. I'll just add this latest on to this thread, it's related.

It's interesting,
I just see so much of it on PBS, Nova and the like, most of it I've already seen before.
I even break out the boys telescope sometimes, it's big enough that the full moon blinds you, saw Saturn's rings when it came real close a couple of years ago, Jupiter, Mars too.
Stargazer always gave a heads up on what to look for and when.
It's manual and hard to keep track of a target though, you'd be surprised how fast things move across the sky.

I'm glad you post it, just can't think of anything to say about it.

I'm glad you enjoy it Moons, even when you don't comment. I don't think many people see these things, most don't even realize the new developments in space exploration. Seems once people graduate from whatever station of schooling, they just give up on learning. Well, I know lots of folks like that anyway, clueless when it comes to science. It always intrigues me and I can never get enough of it. Thanks Moons :)

I've seen some neat stuff with the telescope, we should have bought the attachments for camera plus the one to mirror the image upright, lol
Try tracking something when the image is upside down..

I know, my daughter has a telescope. Ironically, it's still at the "other" house, LOL. She hasn't used it in years and it's sitting in a closet, collecting dust. I should tell her to get it and we could set it up out back.

Same here, the boy let it set for a couple of years and I had to disassemble it to get all the dust out of it.
i like winter for clear skies if it's not freezing, summer's comfortable but then you've got the mosquitoes to deal with.
I thought he'd love it but I think I got more of a kick out of it than he did.
Except for the time we were spying on a house across the river...lol
