I would be surprised if they released the dog to some showing aggression (no matter the reason). I would think this will be a rescue only situation.

This is why I tell people go to the shelter yourself instead of asking some of the nit-wits that work there.

I think some of them say mix for insurance purposes and to get around banned breeds.

Yes, there's another Rescue posting up currently where the same
thing is done;  she is put up as a 'GSD-mix' but so clearly isn't any-
thing other than well-bred.  It doesn't cause that much of a problem,
does it ?

Conversely, it does not seem to bother the shelter in Yonkers,
where they currently hold a "pure bred" female ...
