...."No dog or litter out of a dam under eight (8) months or over twelve (12) years of age at the time of mating, or by a sire under seven (7) months or over twelve (12) years of age at the time of mating, will be registered unless the application for registration shall be accompanied by an affidavit or evidence which shall prove the fact to the satisfaction of The American Kennel Club." From AKC.... Chapter 9: Overage/Underage Sires and Dams here is the link to read the exact spot I found this: http://akc.org/registration/policies/index.cfm?page=10 From Procedures for Registration Matters: http://akc.org/registration/policies/index.cfm From AKC RULES AND REGULATIONS http://akc.org/insideAKC/regs.cfm From AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB: http://akc.org/ I posted this before but AOL lost it

Really who give 2 shits about the AKC as long as your check clears that is all they care about. I wish AOL would lose the AKC

Not to seem stupid...but what does "....AOL LOSE THE AKC" mean exactly? I believe those ages are WAY too YOUNG....

by FerrumGSDs on 25 October 2004 - 08:10

The AKC states that is the youngest they allow, but people keep themselves to much higher standards. Nobody would be able to purposely breed a GSD that young in our community and be proud of it. At least 12 months old, with hip x-ray, with the norm being closer to 2 years of age. Best Wishes, Jo-Ann

AOL loose the AKC, means that her AOL software lost the information, or that she lost the information using aol. AOL, is America Online internet service and softeware.
