About Joanro's source: Wikipedia under "Criticism" tab:

In December 2007, FAIR was designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The SPLC accused leaders of FAIR of meeting with leaders of the Belgian Nationalist group Vlaams Belang which had been condemned by the Belgian Court of Cassation for violations of the law against racism.[35] FAIR has responded to this charge by stating there is no factual basis for the accusation;[36] that FAIR has compiled a long record of mainstream credibility and respect on immigration issues and has always opposed discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, or religion; and that the accusation is an "act of desperation, resulting from the SPLC's failure to convince the American people of their viewpoint."[37]

FAIR president Dan Stein said of the SPLC, "They've decided to engage in unsubstantiated, invidious name-calling, smearing millions of people in this movement who simply want to see the law enforced and, frankly, lower levels of immigration".[38]

FAIR has been criticized for accepting contributions from the Pioneer Fund. Between 1982 and 1994, FAIR received $1.2 million from the foundation.[39] The Pioneer Fund focuses on projects it perceives will not be easily funded because of controversial, racial, or pro-eugenics subject matter.[13] The Pioneer Fund was described by the Sunday Telegraph as a "neo-Nazi organization closely integrated with the far right in American politics" in 1989.[40]

FAIR has responded to this criticism by asserting that the Fund clearly states that it supports equal opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or ethnicity; that other major institutions, including universities and medical facilities in the United States and other countries, have also accepted grants from the Fund;[41] and that the Fund's contributions to FAIR were used only for the general operation of the organization.[37]

What are you talking about?

You mean like what has happened in each response to my posts on this thred, like this;

 'Todd asked Assange a total of eight questions, all of which were about alleged foreign hacking of the DNC, never asking about the substance of the leaks.'

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) was the source you cited, no?

by Noitsyou on 03 August 2016 - 23:08

Interestingly, Allen West said that American news agencies should be censored because of of what they allowed Assange to do. Trump said Snowden should be executed. That isn't freedom or American values, that's fascism. Unless, of course, it's about Hillary. Then they are all for whistle-blowers.

I still don't see how any other person's shortcomings are supposed to give Hillary, the one being exalted with 30 years of experience and expertise, an excuse for taking questionable advantages to game the system.

You might be good with logic, but that one doesn't quite fly right with me.

by Noitsyou on 04 August 2016 - 02:08

You have it in reverse. I don't say that because, Reagan for example, did something wrong it's OK for Hillary to do the same wrong. My issue isn't with the politicians and who I give a pass to or not give a pass to. My issue is with the people who say that something Hillary, Obama or any democrat does is wrong but when a republican who did the same thing is mentioned they give him a pass. The same people who are against Hillary are Reagan worshipers. Trump admires Reagan. But they give him a pass for the things he did. All of these people who cry about Hillary being a liar and Benghazi, where was their outrage when GWB lied to get us into a war in Iraq in which many more Americans were killed than Benghazi? Now they suddenly have a conscience? All of these issues mattered to them when? When Obama was elected.

Hillary told lies. Is that a surprise? She's a politician and...a human being. She isn't a saint. These crybabies didn't complain when it was their guys in office telling the lies. These people who are so appalled at Hillary being a liar are liars themselves. Just look at the Khan family. They are spreading lies about them. Look at Trump, he is a liar. His whole life is a lie. But they give him a pass (or do they really believe him? I don't know which is scarier).

I don't justify a wrong by saying someone did the same thing before. I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of people. People like to look at politicians and think that they are the problem and, the solution. Why? They never learn but history is a weak spot for Americans. Gore Vidal said, "we learn nothing because we remember nothing." We complain about politicians not doing their jobs yet, the average length of time a member of congress serves has gone up. We keep re-electing the very people we say are not doing their jobs. Why? Because we believe them when they say it's because of the other members of congress. We complain that people of quality don't run for office. Why would they? Who would want to have to deal with a population full of idiots? They hate liars unless they're from their team. They would vote for a guy like Trump who is the opposite of dignified and informed. In short, the problem isn't who's in office; the problem is an electorate that lacks just as much integrity as the people they elect. I just laugh at these people crying about Hillary and Obama. Where were they 10 years ago? 20 years? 30 years? Well educated people, you know, the intellectuals who Americans distrust and despise, have been talking about the direction this country has been heading in for decades. If I, as a high school student was able to hear their message then what is the excuse for adults today not being able to listen? They haven't heard of newspapers or books? They are so lazy they rely on memes and blogs.

Something else Gore Vidal said was that the ruling class has total contempt for the people of the country. And yet, look at how starry eyed the supporters for the two candidates are. They truly believe. God bless them.

If I have any advice for people it's to prioritize educating yourself. Learn something everyday. Learn how to verify what a legitimate source is. Use those skills in a library. Forget the internet or the cable and network news. Forget those horribly written and researched books by pundits. They are already rich, save your money. There still are good newspapers out there. Read some philosophy (that doesn't mean Ayn Rand). Explore the Western Canon. Take a college class. I had an economics professor who said it's not your fault if you are ignorant but it is your fault if you stay ignorant. Or you can always simply rely on politicians and their corporate backers to tell you what the meaning of life is. I mean, if it wasn't for Trump all of those people would never have known they hated Mexicans.
