The best is the lowest. The lowest I've ever heard of is 65, but that dogs ZW went higher and up to 70-something as he got older (it is adjusted by progeny and progeny of the parents etc). I myself have two dogs that are the lowest I now know of or have heard of - Laika v Reimsloherwald Schh3 ZW 68 http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/341970.html and H'Doc v Rex Lupus Schh3,FH2,KKl-1 ZW 69 http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/558720.html. The highest rating I don't know - I would not personally breed to a dog or own a dog for breeding that was close to 100 let alone more than.

If a ZW is 100 or below that is great the lower the ZW the better. If the ZW is over 100 then do some research before purchasing the dog or breeding to it.

I forgot to put the link to Mexx Aurelius in case anyone is interested in breeding to him. He was also one of the 14 dogs at the 2007 Bundessieger Show given special recognition for his outstanding bitework. Great combination of low ZW and ability to work.

SG Fina von der Haumuhle SchH3, IPO3, KKL2 has a ZW of 61 now. It used to be 64, but it went down further. She's ten now, still going strong. Her family thinks she will live forever.

Wow Veronica, that's impressive. How low can a ZW go?
