I just saw the movie trailer for "i am legend". Sounds like a gsd rescue female is the costar with will smith. Anyone have anymore info? If you youtube it you can see some of the action.!!! I'm excited . Especially since I am still looking for a copy of my childhood favorite tv show "run joe run". P.s I think her name is "bella".

I've seen a lot of commercials for the movie, but will wait for someone else to see it before I go.  I wouldn't be able to see it in a theater if the dog dies!!!  I'm bad with dogs dying in movies.  When I was a kid, my mom started banning me from watching Lassie because I'd bawl everytime Lassie got hurt or something!!  Pathetic, I know!!   So someone, give us a report on the movie if you see it, or know if the dog dies or not.

Not pathetic at all!!  I start to sniffle as soon as Lassie does the offering of the front paw thing in the opening credits.  I really don't know why.

giebel,

Wow, you too?  I would love to find some old Run Joe Run movies.  Heck, anytime I've ever mentioned the show to anyone, nobody's heard of it.

My husband remembers that show, "Run, Joe, Run".  He's a tad older than I, but I had never heard of it (but then, he's a TV fanatic and I'm not).

As for this movie - glad to see a GS in a positive role.  (S)he may not be a fantastic conformational example of the breed, but will be recognizable for Joe Schmoe.  Nice to have a dog OTHER than a damn retriever in a movie.

giebel----You got me to view the trailer on imbd.com and it looks like the dog dies RoZoAn----it also looks like pits are villains, and the lion Will doesn't shoot will probably end up being his compadre against foes.  Clue----roar at video end (even though came from human), LOL.  The GSD looks like a sweetie......but, I'll probably pass on the movie. Can't stand when they kill the dog......remember  'Turner and Hooch'? What a bummer that was......as if showing his pup at the end made up for his dying.

I agree sue---not pathetic......and  Lassie's paw, I believe, was at the closing credits.  I was glued to that screen saying goodbye.....not hello. (LOL)

My dh gave me a vhs tape of the Run Joe Run a while back.  I'll check the label and post the production company name.  You may be still able to get copies.

Run joe Run was ultra stupid, but, you are right, I would loove to see that again.

This movie is a remake of a famous Book/movie where over the years the movie has evolved. I have seen several of the remakes and have read the book. The trailer doesn't do the plot justice at all. There are things the trailer leaves out that are very important to whether or not you would even go to see this movie.

The better version would be "The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price which is also based on the book I Am Legend.  If you're a Charleton Heston fan than The Omega Man would be a good pick.  Also based on the Legend book.
