It would appear they're quite serious.. the dogs are American-line of course. Perhaps not the kind of dog we usually see on this database, but surely within their rights to add them as we do ours.

Seriously, this site should be somewhat discriminating, everthing cant be hugs and kiss's or this site will loose all validity. Someone may actaully buy a dog from Capers acres thinking they are true quality, seeing that they were advertised on this site. Most people like this site and value this site because you can find decent, well bred dogs. Lets keep that aim!

Well, again, where will you draw the line?? I have seen numerous dogs listed here that were crap, even though they were from European lines, full brother-sister matings, no hip certifications, etc... At least these people are showing and doing hips, which is more than a lot of people do. And anyone who is naiive enough to think that just because a dog's pedigree is on this site means it's QUALITY, is just as likely to think anything that is REGISTERED with any bonified registry is quality, and we all know better. I just don't know where you would begin to discriminate. What would be reasonable and fair criteria?? What would make a dog "worthy" to be listed on this site????

Their dogs are OFA'd, some have OFA excellent hips.
They are not overangulated, and most are substantial looking animals with good bone They are line bred, or outbred, with some showing no common ancestry in 5 or 6 generations..
Not everyone thinks a GSD has to be black and red and have a banana back and a chow-like face.
If they were breeding long-haired blue and liver Shepherds with no hip records your complaint would be justified.

Oh, and I suppose this dog beloning to Caper's Acres is worthy of being posted, just because he's got 'vom' in his name?

Just because someone didnt list their hips on their dog doesnt make their dog crap.....a lot of people have exrays done by orthopedic vets in their region and just never submited them to ofa a lot of police dogs are xrayed and they have their xrays for anyone to see....alot of people have great gsds and litters that are very much the same as all the ones you many seem to judge better.....
This site has not a rule that you cant submit your pedigree on your german shepherd as long as it is registered and can be traced and is truthful and legit...
Ive never seen any rules against such and dont think that is the aim of this site anyway...Its for checking pedigrees and learning and the facts must be truthful on the pedigrees or Im sure Oli would remove it , if a bunch show up that are not legit...He would have to be informed by someone as Im sure he doesnt sit around checking them all...
I do know he removes improper pictures on them....

I actually got a chuckle seeing that I could register my Am bred here (son of Caper's acre's sliza fox)
Here's a pic of him:
Oh, I mean here's a pic of him....strapping young lad ain't he? LOL
What do you think now sunsilver?

Sunsilver, What do you consider overangulated? Any time I see a dog standing on it's hock it makes me hurt.

Here is a link to their kennel: http://www.capersacres.com/dogs.html
I'm hoping the reason they imported Gringo is to try to upgrade their breeding stock & bring it more in line with what a GSD is supposed to act & look like according to the true standard set by the SV. I'm optomistic that by familiarizing themselves with Pedigree Data Base they will become interested in training their dogs in herding or a protection sport rather than just breeding pretty house ornaments. I admire those who are brave enough to buck the system, ignore the politics and do whats right for the breed.
I noticed that in the stacked photos of their breeding stock, almost all have a hock practically flat on the ground. Is that a result of the way they are stacked or is it because of the extreme angulation?
