OT: Avoiding Knee Jerk Reactions... - Page 1

Someone has to be the voice of reason; it might as well be me. As much as I agree that whoever posted the pictures that are the focus of today's discussion is childish, has far too much time on their hands and is abusing the site, some of the reactions to these pictures is more obscene than the pictures themselves. I agree that they don't belong here but most of us never would have even noticed had it been handled correctly by sending a private email to the site's administrator. Furthermore, the picture in question is NOT child porn. Is the girl in the picture young? You bet but under 18? Shaved? Yep...small breasted? Like you read about. Inasmuch as the picture comes from a legal web site whose watermark appears in the lower left hand corner, I doubt it. Abused? Again I doubt it. Paid for modelling? Probably well paid. Not only does the girl not fit the legal definition of child but the picture does not fit the legal definition of pornography...it's really just a picture of a nude girl holding a fake phallus. My God! A nude girl! Wash out my eyes with holy water, threaten Oli and call the freakin' FBI! Yep, good plan...call 'em and demand that they take action. Know what the result will be? A big red circle around your house on their map of your neighborhood. Fact of the matter is, if Oli accidentally put the wrong mushrooms in his spaghetti sauce one night and decided to replace every picture of every dog here with a picture of a nude girl, there really isn't much you could do about it. If you really want to get pissed of about obscenity, go volunteer at your local animal shelter; that's obscene. People without their clothes on? Ummmm... I wanna state that knowing Keith, there is NO way he has an 18 year old daughter unless he fathered her when he was about 8 years old! I'm sorry the board had to put up with that trash. But I think that we can all move past it and get back to talking about what IS wonderful in our lives. Our dogs, right???? JDN - US
