I have German Coolies aka Australian Koolies, mostly refured to as "Koolie"

They are NOT FCI recognized yet. They have several breed registries around the world.

Can my breed be added to the database? PLEASE HELP!

by GSDHeritage on 21 August 2018 - 22:08

Sorry at this time the PDB does not recognize this breed so no it can not be added to the database.

by CompetitiveK9s on 21 August 2018 - 23:08

But PDB recognizes mixes......?

by hexe on 22 August 2018 - 00:08

No, PDB doesn't recognize mixes...only FCI-recognized breeds.

by GSDHeritage on 22 August 2018 - 01:08

The PDB is not for mixed breeds.

"Pedigree Database (“PDB”) is the world’s leading free source of pedigree information for purebred dogs."

Does anyone, anywhere, recognise Coolies / Koolies ? German Kennel Club (VDH) ? Australia KC ? What makes it a Breed ? What are its distinct features ?

Oh, OK , cheers Rik - very wide range of height / weight / colour characteristics. Nothing much to suggest it "breeds true". Like the other Australian herding dogs that have evolved off the basic Collie that was taken out to Oz in the 18 & 19th centuries, then. Another 'breed', with nothing much to distinguish it, is SO necessary, of course. This entirely one-off registry (NOT a national Kennel Club) is based in Germany why? Because even the Aussies don't want a bar of it ? Why do I smell £$£$£$ being taken off those who know little or nothing about dog breeding ?
