"It remains my opinion that faith is necessary to hold this belief."

A hell of a lot of faith.

God just created himself out of thin air but the big bang is impossible.

What about the bibles timeline with the billions of year old earth and everything being created 6000 years ago as the bible would have people believe or do you guys just make up and believe the parts you want to believe, is this another leap of faith thing?

Faith, lol.

Either you believe, or you don't. Again, arrogance would seem to demand every answer and explanation. Ironic that this thread is about geocentricism.

Carlin,

I don't care what a thread is about in OT. It is all off topic so if a THREAD goes off topic who cares beyond you as you are always the one whining like a school girl. Get over it.

There are just to many of these leaps of faith that I cannot believe and you guys talk a logical game until it has to deal with stuff you can't explain that is illogical in its entirety. Think about what you are believing, step away from the edge and your schooling (which BTW is mind control, programming and mental garbage) and ask yourself who created God?

If God created everything as you believe who created God?

Okay lets explore the timeline of the bible. The earth and universe according to the bible are 6,000 years old but the earth is billions of years old, is this another leap of faith?

Lets talk about dinosaurs being millions of years old on an earth that according to the bible is 6,000 years old. Dragons have been used as an explanation for dinosaurs, have any of these dragon skeletons ever been found? Have any dinosaurs or dragon skeletons ever been dated to be 6,000 years or less old?

I know more faith, right? You folks sure have a lot of faith in illogical things but some of you want to talk logic like you own it, but then revert to illogical thoughts when trying to explain things that don't add up.

Faith, LMFAO.

Carlin, I'm not asking you to apply anything, apply what you like to your opinion, to bolster is or weaken it, it doesn't matter to me.  I do like this, kind of:

As to "peace", there are those of "us" who understand the message and example of Christ through the lenses of giving, selflessness, love, and sacrifice, in addition to that peace.

That's the way you read it and that's fine by me.  I didn't read it as a lens of giving, selflessness or love, I read it as nonsense designed to control and demand conformity.  But if that's what you take from it, I don't have a problem with it.  I also don't care if you believe every single word and take it as absolute truth and absolute morality, as long as the sacrifices made for it are your own.  People like Shtal would have us in the same state as the Middle East, if given the opportunity and we all see how well that's been working.  And maybe you could do some research and see what Islam has actually contributed to the world, in its more enlightened and less controlling eras.  Fundamentalism is a dangerous game in any religion, it seeks a stranglehold on society and the only option becomes slavery.  I don't want to live in that kind of world, this is the only life I believe I have and I don't want it wasted on what I see as nonsense.

Ruger,

i don't whine about people posting off topic in flipping OT.

i rarely whine so you really don't know what you are saying. I tell it the way I see it in plain English.

Faith, lol, it must take an abnormal amount to believe in a fairy tale.

I refer to logic when others assert that there exists evidence which disproves God, but never do you find me taking a position which forwards faith. There are rational arguments which allow for theism and a creator not created. Philosophy has yet to counter them.

I don't remember ever expecting you to either believe or understand the Christian faith, but you may try a little more tolerance of others' beliefs, and a little less angst and aggression.

I suspect you won't be willing to provide evidence of said "always whining", and I suspect I know why.

Did you forget your vitamins this morning?
