Thumbs UpThumbs Up

I am in stitches over here. This has now become  one of my favorite threads of all time. I also learned some good (dog) training stuff about coming with precision, and Cialis. If only every day were Valentine's Day! lol Special thanks to Slamdunc!

Bee,
I took pictures of the Chicken Roulade I made for dinner last night.  I stuffed the chicken with Goat cheese, spinach, sundried tomatoes and fresh herbs.  I sauteed it in white wine and lemon zest then baked it in the oven.  It turned out very well and I have left overs for lunch.  I'll email you the pictures of the prep work because for some reason you think I can not cook!Wink Smile

Slamdunc:

True! I have doubted your culinary accomplishments! Boomer better be in the pictures for ultra-proof! I thought you might be tired of cooking talk between the greatest, self-proclaimed, gustatory connoisseur on this board, our very own: Workingdogz.... and were mocking us with your menus! Now, I need to go and google, "Chicken Roulade".....!!!  Sounds positively, divine, by the way, I love all those things!

I am not looking for an argument....really, lol!

I can send you the recipe but I am into healthy cooking and do not use wheat or flour in anything.  I have been substituting quinoa for wheat products and it is super healthy.  The rest of the ingredients  were all healthy stuuf as well.  I made the filling with goat cheese, fresh herbs most I grow, thyme, basil, rosemary, parsley, quinoa, garlic and sundried tomatoes,  I butterflied the chicken cutlets, tehn seasoned them and pounded the little buggers with a mallet.  Added the filling rolled and pinned, browned in the pan with wine and coconut oil then finished in the oven with the herb butter and lemon zest.

...Oh wow... I have to gaze upon your creation the Roman way, laying down on a couch! But heck, I'll try most things... once!  I did promise you a piece of cake, didn't I? They went for seconds last night, without needing more milk, so I think it came out OK!

How big a piece you want?

Oh... and you know what I do with my dogs, but maybe you could help me be more precise? I have a bell outside by front and back doors, and I like to ring it once and have them come. I always have a great treat for them when the do come. It works pretty well, but not 100 percent. There are times, like late at night when some wayward critter wanders inside our territory lines, well, seems to be the dogs walk and not run back home, real slow. Red Smile

I read you entire post. You re-posted the ENTIRE post and it says exactly the same thing. The portin I posted I didn't add anything extra too it nor take anything away. I quoted it exactly In it's own area and then commented after. The fact of the matter remains you posted what you do in that certain cituation and I pointed out how it was wrong. NO IF ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT.

After RE-READING your entire post YOU STILL:

1. GAVE THE DOG A COMMAND AND HE DIDN'T DO IT.

2. YOU SAID "NO"

3. TOLD HIM TO DOWN AND HE DID IT.

4. YOU THEN TOLD HIM "NO"

5. THEN WENT AND CORRECTED THE DOG.

AM I RIGHT? OR AM I RIGHT? I know English isn't your first language so did you type what you ment incorrectly? If not it's still POOR TRAINING.

Trying to say I misrepresented you in any way is absolute nonsense. The actual "SCUMMY" thing here is YOU trying to cast light away from the fact that your training method in this instance does nothing but totally confuse a dog. In NO FOUNDATION WORK FOR ANY SYSTEM IN DOG TRAINING is a dog EVER going to understand getting a correction AFTER DOING WHAT IS RIGHT!

You can post to your hearts content. You can say your misrepresented (even though your posts are there for all to read). You can jump up and down, stamp your feet , yell, hollar and scream you right. DOESN"T MAKE IT TRUE.

Tell you what I have freinds in Arizona I wouldn't mind seeing. Tell me when you'll be trialing one of you precision dogs trained in this matter and I'll plan a vacation at that time. Then perhaps you'll convince me that your system (even though contrary to all known canine psycology) is the way to go.

UNTIL THEN I'M DONE. SO FEEL FREE TO CONTINUE WITH YOUR RANTS AND SAY I MISREPRESENTED WHAT SAID AND ANY OTHER FALSEHOODS YOU SEE FIT.  BECAUSE I COUOLD CARE LESS AND THE TRUTH IS THERE FOR EVERYONE TO READ. IN YOUR OWN WORDS, POSTED IN ITS ENTIERTY BY YOU HERE AND ON YOUR OWN BOARD.

ABBY NORMAL you asked "Is it the same kind of thing as using anabolic steroids 'to win' because all the other competitors are doing it"

I don't see it that way. Just for an example. Let's use LIBRARIES VS. THE INTERNET. One has been around for hundreds of years. The other is realatively new. With both you can get information. But with the internet you can get the info. much quicker. Since using the internet isn't the traditional way does that make it wrong? No. It's just a new way of doing things that those who know how to use it can put it into practice.

Come to think of it many people do think of E-collars like they do steroids. They think that all you have to do is strap the collar on or shoot steroids and you'll be an instant success. Unfortunately this is far from true.

Looks lovely Slamdunc, and probably even ok for my diet. (need to lose some weight for crufts)Regular Smile
I have never used an electric collar, because I don't want to, and I'm really pleased with the results without it.
I have never used a clicker, because I don't want to, and I'm really pleased without it.
I have a very high drive dog, and I'm quite capable of getting him to vocalise, without the use of an electric collar. If it gets him to shut up, can I have one pleaseRoll eyes (Joke)
What makes me cry is the idiots who can screw their dogs up by placing too much pressure on them, and trying to get results yesterday, with or without the use of an e collar, then blame the dog!!!
Dogs are not machines, and all mature at different rates. In the competitive world, whether it be IPO, gun dog, obedience, etc. When we pass the pressure on to our dogs they don't know why. A good trainer will get the best from every dog, and they will not all be top winners.
In any sport there will always be top trainers, because they are the top handlers, and they are consistent, with brilliant timing. Sometimes you just get a dog that will go to the top, even with an idiot on the other end of the lead. With a good trainer, that is a joy to behold.
You dont need an e collar to train precision, but they have their uses. What is necessary to train precision is timing, and an understanding of the other half of the team.
