So, let me get this straight, God got a married woman pregnant?

Mary was engaged to Joseph and not married.
An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream saying,Joseph,son of David,do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife,for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Now I am a little intrigued. I was always under the impression they were already married.

Do you know the consequences of a woman being pregnant outside of marriage in the old Jewish times? And do you realize that marriage in those times wasn't anything but 2 families agreeing it is so? There were no formal marriage ceremonies unless the people were wealthy, which is not the case here.  Her life was on the line and why if God is this great being who can create the universe-wouldn't he have just make Jesus a young adult, instead of putting Mary's life on the line to explain an unmarried pregnancy? This is still such a stretch of the imagination that it is beyond belief. Your God put this young woman's life in danger when he could have just created his son like he did everything else. He didn't need a virgin vessel, it goes against his abilities to create.

Adam and Eve weren't babies so again this makes no logical sense. The creator could have just made Jesus a young man, instead he put Mary's life in danger.

So, now I am going to try and move away from this thread. I do appreciate you setting me straight on the marriage issue, even though no one knows one way or another. I will accept your story as I really don't see disagreeing with people who can't accept the universe being more than 6000 years old.

Later tater.

God “promised beforehand through the prophets in the holy scriptures” things concerning the coming of the son of David. Those things related to the place, nature of His birth, life, death and resurrection. His Jewish background would demand that He be born of the line of David if He would be eligible to sit on the great king’s throne and reign forever as the true king of Israel.

The prophet Jeremiah was specific when he wrote in 23:5-6 of the coming of the royal son of David:“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch;
And He will reign as king and act wisely
And do justice and righteousness in the land.
“In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell securely;
And this is His name by which He will be called,
‘The Lord our righteousness.’”

One should also note the exception to the law which permitted inheritance through the daughter if no sons were available and she married within her tribe

It takes many years of study of the scriptures , Old Testament first to see all the truths given and the prophesy of the virgin birth given way way ahead of time..

It WAS  written many times by not one but several men of GOD, looking towards the coming...after Jesus was born of a virgin...New TESTAMENT  GOES  forward to the Cross and the study is deep.

the old testament was written yes by MEN in  Hebrew and Aramic.

THE NEW testament was written in Greek,,,,,,the every day language...then all has been translated ..you must study   truth no someones writings...it cannot be done on a dog forum

note:

daughters of Zelophehad had petitioned Moses for a special exception, which was granted when they entered the land under Joshua.

the claims of Christ rely upon this peculiar exception granted to the family of Zelo-phehad in the Torah. Heli, Mary's father, apparently had no sons, and Mary married within the tribe of Judah. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, of the house and lineage of David and carrying legal title to the line, but without the blood curse of Jeconiah.

I believe that every detail in the Torah -- and the entire Bible -- has a direct link to Jesus Christ.

Psalms 40:7

GSDadmin.       Joseph was not the actual father of Jesus though he was HIS LEGAL father and raised him as his son
read Luke 3:31  David was Josephs great grandfather.

The curse has to be studied back to the Old Testament and  studying it takes YEARS

I typed all this once and it went bye bye so here I again say:

THE  reason GOD , the one who did MIRACLES , did so to show his HANDIWORK..THe curse had to be gone around and the Throne had to be filled with THE KING OF GLORY by doing it thru the VIRGIN birth..

JESUS born of that Marys virgin birth was how GOD did this MIRACLE>..

After that Miracle man no longer had to sacrifice a burnt offering or make any offering, just obedience and acceptance,,,as Jesus Blood was not the last sacriment..

BUT it takes years of Study NOT HERE  on a dog forum...noted here to kinda sum up the curse in a very short version

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

God announced very early that His plan for redemption involved the Messiah being brought forth from the tribe of Judah and specifically from the line of David. The succession of subsequent kings proved to be, with only a few exceptions, a dismal chain.

As the succeeding kings of Judah went from bad to worse, we eventually encounter Jeconiah (also known as Jehoiachin), upon whom God pronounces a" blood curse" :"Thus saith the Lord, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah."(Jeremiah 22:30)

This curse created a rather grim and perplexing paradox: the Messiah had to come from the royal line, yet now there was a"blood curse" on that very line of descent! (I always visualize a celebration in the councils of Satan on that day. But then I imagine God turning to His angels, saying,"Watch this one!")

So this is why it lay on the Father of MARY TO  complete this....and there were no SONS>>>only a daughter MARY
So Gods prophesy went into motion..IT was to show Gods ALL BEING...NOTHING ELSE...ONLY GOD  can do a miracle and you cannot prove miracles...YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE  on FAITH..

I just could not keep my fingers off this subject very long...

Gen. 49:10   ALSO  Ruth and book of Samuel also contain references of this I wrote ....

The curse upon Jeconiah would not weigh against CHRIST,as it only affected Coniahs NATURAL CHILDREN.  Jesus was not the NATURAL CHILD,but rather the legal child and heir.

The"Seed of the Woman" thus becomes one of the prophetic titles of the Messiah. This biological contradiction is the first hint -- in the early chapters of Genesis -- of the virgin birth.

John also presents a genealogy, of sorts, of the Pre-Existent One in the first three verses of his gospel  The Prophet Micah also highlights this:" But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."(Micah 5:2)

******************************************************************************* Numbers, Joshua and Chronicles  all referenced to....

 You need to do some more studying...I am not gonna spell it out on here

  YOu do not understand obviously the progression of inheritance in the whole of all this...Cannot post i t and not gonna

C.I. Scofield wrote a book  I mention below....good read...

   It takes a lot of study far more than has been done..

The royal line of jesus preserved.
The genealogy of Judah is placed first in Chroniles 2:3, because of the importance of the line of Judah,for from this line would come Jesus Christ.  God is seen in this genealogy as fulfilling His promise to David that Davids house and his kingdom would be established forever 2 SAM.7:12-16.   This was litterally fullfilled for 17 generations until Judah ceased to be a kingdom in 586 B.C.and was swallowed up by Babylon. Christ the king,Davids greater son,came out of the lineage of Salathiel and Zerubbabel.
It was Zerubabbel who led back the returning exiles in 536 B.C.  Zerubabbel was the governor of the early restoration.  Through this hous would arise Israels ultimate hope,the Mssiah Chris Jesus.
