ML thinks if he can parrot the miserable mantra enough times it will become true, self projecting his own misery and unhappiness seems reasonable.

Joan~~ I impose nothing on you! I simply give my opinion.  :) and we are free, the same way a prisoner is free within his four small walls,,,  :))

Hund ~~~ I will not defend the Old Testiment, God does what He sees fit and I trust Him,,,And what you see in the Old vs New Testament as contradictions, I see as Gods forbearance leading us to Chirst ....and please stop insinuating I am avoiding you / your questions ,,, it's silly. I am open and always willing to discuss any topic. I believe I answered your question in part ~~ go back and look. My lunch hours over, but I will come back later.

GSD said,

ML,

"I still do not get the golfing thing, golfing is for rich old fuddy duddies. Oh well to each his own. I hope you hit a hole in one and you don't have to yell four to many times, lol."

Actually it's not. Around here most high schools have a golf team. The local courses allow the schools to play and practice for free.

Now one thing different about Golf is that it has a handicap system based on a players ability and scores. Because of the hadicap system it is the only sport I know of where someone say in their 70s can compete competitively agains someone in their 20s.

There are some Golf Clubs that only allow certain people to join etc. But they are few and far between. For the most part you don't have to be "a member" to play at a golf course.

Most Golf courses have leagues that play weekly on certain afternoons. They cater to the leagues because the leagues more or less guaranty a certain amount of people playing during their scheduled time.

Our league is run so professionally (League Website etc., our own scorecards) that the manager of the Golf Course we play at joined our league this year. By 7PM our members can look at the website from home and tell how many points they got today, what place they are in, who they are playing next week, even look at next week scorecards online. They love it, many have said our league is far superior than any other league they have ever played in.

Oh, and guess who runs the Website etc. Some clown named Mountain Lion. LOL

Want to join next year?

Hund, sorry,  I have decided that these discussions are futile, and I am not going to engage in them anymore.

A lot of what you are asking has been answered over and over again in the last year on various topics.

I'll leave it at this.  There is a God, NO DOUBT in my mind at all.  There is much much proof.  When reading the old Testament, remember, that to believe in God, you must also believe in the Devil.  It is a constant battle between the two.  Sounds strange I know, but then so does the big bang theory, at least to me.

Take care all, safe journeys.

Keep looking  up  my fellow Christians, your redemption draws nigh. :)

HM  sez  'hhhmmm'.      Actually what I was specifically asking hasn't been answered (in whole or in part) - that is why I am asking it.

Seems to me people cannot satisfactorarily answer it, and that is why you-all resort to " I won't defend God / the OT / u r just being

inflamatory /miserable;  I've decided not to debate any more."   [This last will not stop you coming back into similar topics at later date, I bet.]

Can you not see, that was one of the reasons I want to open out the debates, to people less certain in the validity of

the bible as a collection of 'facts' , while still being certain in their Faith ?

Hund~~ I think you just don't like the answers ,,, I have answered your question and as Rs said, all of this has been debated and gone over in threads past. And btw there are some that are worth going back to re-read,, As much as you seek it, we xians wil never find fault with God. No matter what our feelings are about certain OT events.  His ways are not ours. Quite honestly, He was showing forbearance and mercy by contending with humanity as graciously as He did / does.  He is God and cares nothing about satisfying your opinion of things and frankly niether do I. I am comfortable in my skin not needing you or anyone else to approve or agree with me...I have never cared much about that sort of thing. And btw you're right, we will all continue to participate in other topics. Why not? ,,, We have our .2 cents and you have yours :)))) I'm ok with that ,,,,

I admit I don't 'like'  deliberately  incomplete answers, Ruger.  In your post today over on the Characteristics thred you apparently see

that humans might be "made worse than we would be anyway" but say "God is under no obligations".  I agree btw that you could not

'obligate' any sort of a 'god' ;  but THEN you said we are:  never made worse, because we're all born as depraved as each other

(because of 'original sin').  Do you really not see that your interpretation is a contradictory position ?   Leaving that to one side, must I

take this to mean that if some human knowingly and deliberately flouts 'gods law' - say in breach of one of the Commandments - that

action IS NO WORSE than someone who commits Manslaughter / Accidental Homicide ?  (So you believe Pistorius should

not be punished in any way ?  By earthly judges at least ?)

"I admit I don't 'like'  deliberately  incomplete answers, Ruger.  In your post today over on the Characteristics thred you apparently see",,

Hund ~~ not sure why ( well actually I do ) you want to continue to insinuate I am avoiding, ignoring or otherwise giving you incomplete answers. I think you have a preconceived agenda that disallows you to hear anything, but what you want to hear. I have dinner to start before working, but I will be happy to elaborate in a bit.
