Problems on the forum? - Page 8

Well I don't like to stop people from seeing the ads it is how Oli makes his money but I can't handle the complaints when it is so easy to block. To me complaining is harder than blocking. sigh!!!

You don't want to stop people from seeing ad's, and you can't handle members concerns or comments, so you tell them to block the ad's you want everyone to see so that Oli will make money...

Can't everybody just be nice to each other?? I am too much of a softie, even when someone probably deserves it, I still don't like to see people fussing at each other..  I'm sure it's a fault, but I'm always worried about other's feelings.. (That sounded so gay) And not in the same sex relationship kind of way.. LoL
 Yes the pop up ads and such are annoying, but hey it is a free site, and as GSD ADMIN stated, does cost a bit to run.. So unless we all want to cough up a fee, I guess we will have to grin and bear the ads.. This site does offer a lot of services with the pedigree links, forums, classifieds, etcetera, that I can deal with some annoying ads.. And what would I do without the stimulating conversations this Off Topic offers??  :)

It is one of those catch 22s. You have spent all this time whining and arguing when you could have easily been done with it. Honestly, I think you just like to find things to whine, disagree and complain about. You have a good day and I am out of here.

What really turned me off about the ads, is when ads in general, on any site, started to become intrusive in the sense that I would see ads on PDB which were the result of previous sites I visited.  Enter Ghostery and some other gadgets.  If the ads were just silent and generic, I'd be fine just rolling with it.

Lets say you searched for new computers - of course google or any ad server wants to show you relevant ads or you will never click on them. It is all apart of the game of advertising. Why do you think google uses audio? To get your attention and it is working. Right?
