Gouda, The scripture speaks volumes to Gods holiness and character. You should consider spending more time on that topic ...Just an idea..
Shtal,, With all do respect, I couldn't care less whether ggturner agrees with me or not, but I am sure she is capable of speaking for herself if that is the case, but thanks for the heads up,,lol,,Judas did not belong to Christ in the first place, he was used as a tool to fulfill Gods purpose..
....And I am not going to watch your video, but thanks anyway...

Hi Deana.
Concerning the the post of HEB. 6:4-6
I WASNT TALKING ABOUT A BACK SLIDER, Im talking about a person who was once enlighted, and tasted of the heavenly gift, and
Was made A PARTAKER OF THE HOLY GHOST.
And have tasted the good word of God,and the powers of the world to come .
Have you ever experienced that state? NOT EVERY CHRISTIAN HAS,dont forget to read verse 6.

With all do respect Can I apply this same logic on you, because Judas lay hand on sick people, walked among Christ and preached his gospel... With the same logic you could be similiar God's tool that at the end you may perish, probably God don't care about you.

Judas was Counterfeit, he did NOT confess his hidden sin(s), and so he perish.

Ruger, I will post what I typed and sent to someone else on this board, speaking on the book of Timothy;
The letters to Timothy teach a few different things. We realize it was instructions to Timothy of course, but it warns and teaches many things. For one it mentions multiple things about false doctrine; It mentions instructions for the qualifications of Elders and Deacons in the Church; It mentions many things regarding how a preacher is suppose to preach. But let's consider a couple of verses when we talk about falling away.... 1 Timothy 1:18-21 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may fight the good fight, keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered over to Satan, so that they may be taught not to blaspheme. " Paul points out what we refer to as the "Apostasy" in 1 Timothy 4 in the first few verses. The very first verse of chapter 4 he mentions "But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paing attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons" Notice the words "fall away from the faith". He mentions a few other things in the upcoming verses, but in verse 6 he states "In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following." I haven't talked much about Apostasy to the congregation I speak to, but I do make it a point from time to time to speak on religious error, as Paul did in some of his letters, as Peter did too. If we consider how much they warned against false teachings and back in those days false prophets....There was a seriousness of it to the point that false teachers could lead one away from the faith, to lose their souls.
Also 2 Timothy 2:16-19 But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and thus they upset the faith of some. Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord abstain from wickedness" When you read those verses it mentions the resurrection, that's not referring to Christ's resurrection from the dead three days after He died here on earth. That would have happened a roughly 2 and 1/2 decades back, give or take, and Paul as well as all Apostles knew that had already happened. It would be referring more so to the final day. We can read some things about that in 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, and even a passage in 1 Thessalonians, but I'm blank on the chapter/verses at the moment. Just know Paul was not talking about (in 2 Timothy 2) about Christ's resurrection three days after He died.
Also remember 2 Timothy 4:1-5 "I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

Gouda, backslider??..Where is that term in scripture?..It's not..I do know what you mean by the term though and that is not what I am suggesting this person is..There are believers and non believers. Sometimes it takes time to see the difference, but it all comes out in the wash..
Shtal, .
"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled."
GSDguy,,Again, with all do respect. I am not going to read a book length post,,If I wanted to read some ones commentary I would..Do you think that I have not studied and come to my own conclusions. I understand your theology I disagree with it and no amount of reading your lengthy posts is going to change my mind..
However, if you want to communicate I would enjoy that, but reading your copy and paste material is not my idea of communicating,,,I stated before I would like to answer any and all your questions with my opinions. I would also like to hear your opinions (live), not something you wrote to someone else,,I am not into that generic type of communicating. Are you going to ask me a question?..I would not want to be accused, as I have been by a few others of not responding and supporting what I believe. I do not ignore posts that are legitimate pointed questions..If you do not care to debate, that is ok too..:)

No one can snatch/steal, but a man can/could perish without abduction. As it was with Judas Iscariot - no one snatch/stole him, but he went out of the hand of Christ.

Ruger, that was not a lengthy post, and in no way a commentary in length either. That was in fact a short post that I typed earlier and sent to someone else, but paste it on here as well. Sometimes though it requires what you might call "lengthy" (if a couple of minutes worth of reading is lengthy to you then that's crazy. That sounds like people in my generation who just want to read a two sentence post and they believe a conclusion can be made from it, and that it is enough evidence to persuade or change someone's mind) I narrowed it at one point to two questions, one of which I said "maybe" (as in you don't have to address that one....So technically I did narrow it to one), but yet you still refused to. You are not willing to debate, you are just willing to make false assertions that the Scriptures do not teach, and if the post takes more than 2 minutes to read you are not willing to speak about it. All you are doing is avoiding things. You're "not into that generic type of communicating" you stated....What does it matter if I typed it to someone else, it still applies here. What if I retyped it now instead of copying what I typed earlier...Would it then be live and worth discussing? That's beyond silly..... And you still would not discuss it.

Shtal, Judas in part fell away because of his greed. He was a lover of money, and that in part persuaded him to "hand" Jesus over (for the silver). It was a temptation for him, and he later felt remorse for handing Christ over. And through that remorse he not only gave the silver back, but he went and hung himself.
