Too funny, you--- busy keeping score. I thought it was God's job, seeing as HE's supposed to do the judging. You seem to think you are competing... with me... needing to win, and I can see with you, winning is everything.

Weird, but every now and then, I just feel sorry for you, really, I do. All I see a lonely, miserable person, who wants his company, just like himself.

My reply--  Deanna if you had a street ministry for years like I did you would never ask such a question..    Besides I also tell them how to recieve eternal life in Christ.

My reply--  Have a friend that now is a pastor,I pressed him for years he finnally excepted Christ. He now has a nice church and many people have come to Christ through his ministry. Do I have to say more.

     What commandment of Christ are you following by continuing to post scripture for people who are not interested ??...Show me anywhere were scripture teaches or where you have seen Christ or the Apostles continue to preach when people are not interested??

 MY reply  Only about 4 persons out of many posters here have told me they do not want to hear it.  Many others Have emailed me saying that they are getting a real blessing out of it. So should the ones that are getting a blessing out of it suffer because 4 people hear do not want to hear it?  Deanna why dont you ask those few people that it annoys not to read my posts. Its as simple as that.

You have a joy, a peace, and an excitement for the faith you possess and for the truth found in the scriptures..I understand that and so does every other Christian on the forum. But you can not force that on others ...You can not make people accept what they will not ( can not) believe..Please hear me Gouda, I know that initially you mean well, but when people don't accept you get offended. When you get offended you feel you need to condemn...God's word is meant for believers, not unbelievers..They will not accept the message of Christ because it is foolishness to them..As it would be to you had Christ not revealed His word to you through faith..That is why scripture teaches that faith is a gift from God, so that no man may boast..You are not going to reason, convince, persuade, or scare people to believe the Bible..You are wasting your time and not fulfilling any commandment of scripture in continuing..You are only frustrating yourself and others..

I am not a hateful person, I know I can be abrasive, but that comes from honesty.  I am a unique HUMAN BEING, with wants and dislikes, love, emotion, sexuality and everything in between... most likely not so different from you.  I don't think that you would want to physically hurt a fly, really.  And neither would I.  I put spiders outside instead of smashing them. My oldest sister was terrified of bugs, any bugs.  She would wake me up in the middle of the night if there was a moth in our room.  I'd capture it and put it out the window, telling her how ridiculous she was, it's only an innocent moth!  I abhor cruelty, pretty much in every form.  And I beleive that's in my nature, as part of the human race.

When I was a child, I had friends who got pleasure from breaking streetlights and later graduated to breaking windows.  This was something that I never understood and it bothered me.  I wondered how they could possibly get any pleasure out of destroying something that belonged to someone else. 

Now I get it.  Men are bad, they've been bad since they disobeyed God, they can't be good, BECAUSE they're men.  Hurt them before they hurt you, because we know ALL people are tainted from birth, all men are evil, all men need to worry about what's beyond the grave in order for them to behave while they're here.  That's the ONLY way!  And if you confess to God for all of your sins, he'll forgive you for being HUMAN.  WHAT??????  But the funny thing was, I never felt evil, I never had the desire to hurt anybody, destroy their property, take their property, etc.  Where was this evil that I was supposed to BE feeling?  I stopped believing in school, when they kept telling me I had to repent for my sins.  What sins?  "We all sin, it's in our nature as human beings.", was always the only answer they had.  So, they're aksing me to lie about sinning, when I haven't, but we all do?  WHAT????????  When I asked, I didn't like their answer.  BECAUSE we were man and needed to be forgiven for being man.  WHAT?????  Made no sense to me, but hey, maybe it's the devil making me be good.  WHAT?????????  Nope, that makes even less sense.  Pretty soon, they didn't call on me anymore, because they couldn't answer my "questions".  That's when I realized why my friends broke windows.  They needed something to be sorry for!  If not, they'd have to lie by making something up and that was against the rules too!  WHAT?????????  Wait a minute here....

I once worked in a job where I saw nothing but despair and poverty and at times I got angry, because it seemed to me that the ways out were not that difficult, if they valued themselves, just a little bit more.  I truly felt for the elderly. I was actally able to help a few people, but not because they weren't willing to help themselves.  One tiny, soft-spoken, poverty stricken old black woman will stand out to me for the rest of my days.  Her name was Olli .  She lived in a duplex and the owner of the adjoining property died years before and the property remained abandoned.  The neighborhood was the remnant of what was left after the mills closed, so their demolition program was spread pretty thin.  The people who were retired and had been happy in their homes, became trapped in the poverty that followed.  They lost everything they'd put into their homes during better times.  No hope of a new start at their age.  When the mills closed, those property values dropped to close to the initial purchase price, while inflation was booming elsewhere, so they couldn't afford to move.  This was a neighborhood where blacks and whites had lived in hamony, because they all had jobs and there was very little crime.  They worked together, knew and trusted each other.  But that all changed, and in the most ironic way...  when the skies turned blue (!) due to lack of pollution.

Anyway, the neighbor's house had deteriorated to the point where it was then threatening her home.  Her walls were starting to leak and detach, she fought to keep the rats away, there was crime all around her, and she was alone.  Nobody would help her and she had nowhere else to go.  I was able to influence the demolition program for that town and I put the house next door on the list after coming up with a plan to save and repair her half, at little to no cost to her.  I found a stipulation about having to repair any damage to adjoining property, and worked with the demolition company to have their crews do a friendlier demolition, while taking on the repairs she needed.  The cost to the town was the same, the demo contractor still made money and most importantly, I saved her home.  Was I a hero?  Well, at that moment I was, but I like to think it's more that I'm HUMAN.   We have to honor those heroes we have because we don't have too many.  Well, that's whay they like you to think, anyway.  Maybe if we just rewarded civil behavior with a little bit of respect, people would be more willing to be everyday heroes, don't you think?

That is my most shining moment, in the middle of a ghetto, because I improved the life of one tiny, old woman that nobody else cared about.  There was no hoopla, no award, no reward.  I simply made another human being's life a little easier, and that was plenty enough to satisfy me.  I didn't ask her if she attended church, or if she didn't, it didn't matter to me.  All that I knew was that she was a fellow HUMAN who needed help.  I did it for her, because she didn't deserve to lose everything she had worked for and cherished.  Was I thinking that it would buy me points for a ticket in heaven?  Nope, not at all.  And you can't understand how anyone who DOESN'T believe in God could possibly have any morality?  I posit that I have more morality than someone who is being good because the only alternative is eternal damnation.  I didn't do it because I was following someone else's rules, I was following my OWN rules and making a choice to be HUMAN = GOOD.  When you start with evil, evil is all you can see.  Maybe, just maybe, if we had a more positive view of other human beings in general, we wouldn't be so quick to automatically damn them for virtue of nothing more than being HUMAN.  THAT is respect, my friend, to a fellow human being as long as I don't have preconcieved notions about their NATURE.  When you start from a point of mistrust, you're asking for another to PROVE they're worthy of your mere presence.  But when you start from a position of RESPECT and TRUST in your fellow humans, you don't judge them until they PROVE otherwise.  And you deal with it accordingly, lawfully.  By laws that are prescribed to keep peace among people, only dealing with injury to another.  Rejecting your religion is doing you no harm, unless your religion is so rigid that you end up creating that which you profess to detest.

I have corrected cashiers for making mistakes at the register, mistakes in my favor.  I have many Christian friends who consider that a secret gift, but I consider it stealing.  I would think that if I treat anther human being with respect and trust until they PROVE they don't deserve it, they'll WANT to return respect and trust, because it makes life much nicer for all of us.

I'm not worried about the other side of the grave Gouda, I'd much rather make my life nicer here and now and in doing so, make life nicer for those I come in contact with, as long as they have MUTUAL RESPECT to allow me MY opinions.

And that, in my opinion is the dirty seed of religion.  To convince people they're bad from birth, while glorifying a life that we can't know, when we'll get our REAL reward.  Sorry, that's evil to me.  HUMAN = CIVIL, to live peacefully in society with other HUMANS.

WHAT IF this is the only shot you get?  Would you still trade your pleasures (personal pleasures, and if involving other HUMANS, only with their consent), your mind, your freedom to trust others, respect others?  Or would you choose to waste it, not only imploring, but INSISTING, NAGGING and BERATING their position, that first met you with a peaceful respect?  Would you then further insist, showing your disrespect for their wishes as fellow HUMAN BEINGS, while DEMANDING respect from them?

I'll go into MY quest for the truth a little later, but right now I've got more important things to do.  I ask you to really think about what I've offered you here, without looking in your book, without telling me that there's a reason for my ERRORS, in your book.  I'm asking you to deal with me using your HUMANITY.  These are very personal things that I would not normally share, but I felt you needed to hear.  Please reserve judgement and comment until I've finished the whole story.  I can't say now how long it will take, depends on how much detail I'm able to provide before burning out, LOL.  All I'm asking is for you to really hear what I'm saying.  To really see another side of your equations.  And I promise, I'm not trying to UNconvert you, I'm just trying to allow you to see my side of your story.  The GOOD side of my story.

One thing in particular I'd like to add at this point.  Your arguement that there are no Atheists in foxholes couldn't be further from the truth.  Atheists who know that they've paid honor to the only life they believe they were given, are surely going to their grave happy.  That's THEIR morality right there!
