Hi Ruger,

God Bless you nurse Ruger!

by joanro on 11 September 2014 - 15:09

See, that's your prejudice being expressed, ml. But that's your problem, not mine. Yes, I said I was finished, here, but you evidently didn't pay attention. It would be rude for me to not respond to you when you specifically address me. So let it go, and I will not have any need to respond again. Comprende' ? PS. ml, do you actually think that Only people who believe the bible believe in god?

Adios,

9 minutes to golfing

Joan it could have been interesting if ML had answered your last question, instead of ducking it.

Come to that I am still waiting for replies promised by Ruger and by Red Sable.

Can I just say that the reason I started this thred was to allow others, like yourself in fact, to get a word in edgewise,

and then maybe get some wider and more interesting views on how religious people make their compromises with

science and logic.  BUT that isn't happenng, and I suspect that is because they look at the thred and see the same

old yards of unattributed cut & paste from Shtal, and the same cries of boring / miserable etc from him, ML and others ...

and then they don't bother.  SMH

The problem is logic goes out the window when people of faith discuss religion. See their faith gets in the way of logic and common sense. It is a form of blindness, similar to kennel blindness.

ML,

I still do not get the golfing thing, golfing is for rich old fuddy duddies. Oh well to each his own. I hope you hit a hole in one and you don't have to yell four to many times, lol.

HM, I noticed none of the BA's ever answer a direct question....just like the nun who couldn't answer my question as to how jc transported to heaven, answered by physical abuse on a six year old Innocent child. The other trait that is prevalent amongst them, is twisting statements and taking a word out of context and addressing that as though they are answering an actual comment; anything to avoid admitting it's all none sense they are working so hard to convince themselves as fact.

Hund ~~ I am here :) didn't think anyone was interested. Thread seemed to go in 10 different directions lol . I answered your question in part. What was it specifically that you were waiting on?

"OK, Ruger, I am not allowed to make decisions or have a say so in what I believe or not believe....only you have that liberty. Must be a reborn thang."

I have no such liberty and niether do you :) IMO  "reborn thang" , yes! You're  catching on quickly :))))

Ruger - halfway down page 3 of the "Gods Charateristics" thred.

I rewrote my question in simpler terms, about what you think  (A) god  and (B) humans 'get out ' of the whole "humans are autonomous; god is all-powerful;

god decides what humans should do, even where what god directs is anti-New Testament, christian, teachings"  mess  - see vk's calling attention various times

to incidences of rapine, murder, et al.  in the bible, mainly OT.   Presumably there is some effect / goal / method in the madness ?

You said you didn't have time to reply as you were on your way out.

As far as I can see you haven't returned to that subject on any thred.  So I don't think you have answered my question 'in part'; though you might

have thought I might get a part-answer from your other replies, eg to Joan ?

Ruger, "I have no such liberty and neither do you." That is a good example of you Imposing your beliefs on others...you put me in mind of a dictatorship, where no one is allowed to have any thoughts of their own. Creepy. Aynn Rand covered dictates such as you are professing in her novels and short stories. So far as I know, the USA still allows freedom of religion and therefore you are dead wrong in your comment when you include me. I don't impose my beliefs on you, and you have zero right to impose your's on me.
I have had friends that were ba and we got along because we respected each others Beliefs, even tho they were very different. I have also worked with bas who were trying to convert everyone and were a general pita, constantly throwing their religion on every one. Anyway, you are certainly entitled to believe whatever you choose, but I remind you, do not include me in your dictates.
