Carlin

by Carlin on 22 April 2014 - 12:04

People can make anything a religion. I've known many a person with no use for or belief in God, who lead productive lives. Others, ahem, seem to be consumed by their atheism. By definition, an atheist would be more "religious" than an agnostic. What's relevant in terms of defining something as a religion in ones life may be the way in which, and extent to which that system functions and influences one's life.

Well, y'see, Carlin, its a bit like how do you tell someone is

'miserable' just from a limited resource - like them disagreeing

with christians on a website - to know whether someone is, in

fact, 'consumed' by their atheism, all of their time.

What some of you would reeeaaaally like is for those of us who

disagree about religion, who insist on pointing up its inconsistencies

and contradictions, to go away and leave you in peace, to be able to

constantly refer to your beliefs and prayers as though 'of course'

everyone else on this planet agrees with & supports them.   Why do

they find it so 'boring & miserable' ?   Like schoolkids doing Maths, its

not fun or interesting WHEN THEY CAN'T DO IT.  You lot can't answer

our awkward questions about religion so you resort to accusing your

adversaries of being bores on the subject.  The really personal insults

no doubt come next  (yes, I know they have already started with vk,

but he looks for it, cos he throws insults around like there's no tomorrow

himself.  I, on the other hand, tend to avoid that trap).  Teeth Smile

What a crock and ultimately crooked statement of flowery, evangelical atheistic miserableness.

A prime example of the fanatism that demands paragraph, after boring paragraph.

How can we even get to the answers (assuming for a moment that any of us are really able to "know") when for instance, so much time is often spent in educating exactly what consitutes a viable and reasonable question?

As far as the rest, the very idea of faith absolutely requires belief in something not yet realized, making it impossible to either prove or deny. I certainly would not want to implicate anyone in particular, but it seems to me that those who are most vehement about forwarding their own position and attacking others' are manifesting some sort of insecurity. While you won't likely find me proselytizing, I do sometimes feel compelled to sort through the mass of careless and sloppy rhetoric that is often most loosely based on science or reason. I try to be fair in that as well.

"You must feel ill quite a bit then, given your most liberal persuasions, lol.

The human race is a group. I think it'll be interesting to remember your position moving forward."

Or your tea party extremism?

What the f you talking about Carlin? Taking my quotes out of context per your usual self.

My post - When a person or group demands/expects respect because they belong to a group, I seriously get a little vomit in my mouth.

You like to twist and manipulate. Well here is your stage with all your puppet followers, enjoy. Where in my post does it talk about liberals or anything else? This is all you got? Grow up.

BTW, please quit trying to black ball members and recruit other members to try and get rid of certain members you do not like.

Do you realize Icelandic people are very liberal???????????????????????

Or your tea party extremism?

You really don't listen well do you?

BTW, please quit trying to black ball members and recruit other members to try and get rid of certain members you do not like.

Trying to think of a member I "don't like". In all honesty, I just don't operate that way, but in the interest of disclosure, the only one that would come close would be you. Teeth Smile

In either case here, something you have always appeared to struggle with is the notion that other people's thought processes do mirror your own restrictive ones. You do as poorly a job of trying to place me in some sort of partisan box as you do assuming that I would react to people I disagree with in the same way that you would, and have. Now, I'd like to hear more about these strange accusations of yours.

Of course I do. If Oli decides to change TOS and restrict opposing views, I'd be more than happy to either abide or leave.

Wrong, there is at least one other person who you have tried to pull your BS on.

BTW, my mod is still shaking his head about the PMs you sent him, whining about being afraid and all the other crap you said it was a very bad acting job.

You a a class act manipultor.

"You really don't listen well do you?"

And you like to twist things and take them out of context, no where in my above quote did I say a thing about liberalism or name any group but you sure found a way to twist what I said. Class act.

Man the TOS does not govern OT. How long you been here?

Carlin

by Carlin on 22 April 2014 - 15:04

Even OT has a TOS, in whatever form. Not the point though is it? It's what the owner wishes it be, period.

Who are you to establish whether I am afraid or not?

Whether you like it or not, you are on consistently disrespecting the beliefs of a particular group, while all but demanding respect for other groups. That sounds an awful lot like the discrimination you have said bothers you so.
