Monsanto is a company that openly states to the public there is no need to test the safety of the DNA introduced into GE produce and proteins or GMO crops. That is one heck of hint and a half of their intent on the human population. If you care to know what I think.

Not only that but they ALSO openly state there is no value in testing the safety of GE or GMO produce and proteins for human consumption. LOL Nope, no arrogance there !! Their position is CLEAR !!!

Monsanto needs to be stopped !!!

Check this out.  Cell Research.

BabyEagle,
While I agree, the greater problem is that these companies are granted patents and once cross pollination occurs they own everything that carries the genetic marker.
That's what was at the heart of the Indiana farmers law suit.

Supreme Court Supports Monsanto's Patent on Genetically Altered Soybeans
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=us-supreme-court-rules-for-monsanto-soybean

For biotech companies in various sectors, not just agriculture, the ruling was a "reaffirmation" of the principle that patent protections extend to copies made of a patented item, according to Patricia Millett, a Washington lawyer who filed a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the Biotechnology Industry Organization.

"It's very important for the innovation economy," she said.

And the legal wrangling is not necessarily over,

Christopher Holman, an intellectual property expert at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, said what the court had left undecided were instances in which there is "unavoidable or inadvertent" replication.

Notwithstanding Kagan's reference to software, the principles contained in Monday's ruling would apply just as much to Microsoft Corp., which sells products with licenses, as it does to Monsanto, he added.

The case is Bowman v. Monsanto, U.S. Supreme Court, No. 11-796.

It could be that the GMOs enable the use of pesticides/herbicides that have a negative impact on Bees.

As I understood it, one of the things they doing is to allow the plant to withstand certain pesticides and herbicides that the plant wouldn't normally be able to survive.

Too bad they couldn't alter the plant so that less pesticides were needed instead of allowing it to be able to withstand higher amounts of pesticides.

They do this too with trees, altered to make them resist insects, basically the trees are more toxic.
Not clear about how that sidetracks insect evolution or how those new proteins affect us and the earth (ground)

Jeffs, the insects and weeds develop tolerance to the pesticides and herbicides, therefore, stronger poisons are required to get the desired results. So in order to not kill the crops the company is trying to produce, they have to create crops that will tolerate the deadly doses of poison. And the crops survive, but the effects on humans eating, ooops, I mean consuming, the GM crops is not known 'cause Monsanto says every thing is safe and doesn't need to be tested. The stupid American politicians agree with Monsanto, however, the rest of the world refuses to believe Monsanto or the US gov and won't allow the poisonous grains into their countries.
At least that what I think the issue with Monsanto, the poisoners, is about. &:-/
