Two Moons

Ah miss can't be wrong.

You guys have all but run everyone off looks like to me.

There is a difference between profit and legal price gouging and price fixing, both of which are supposed to be illegal.

take a pill.....LOL

You clearly don't understand things in a big picture kind of way.

Moons, and I love how I am so powerful with the truth.   It is a hoot!

Please Bee,

truth is people have to choose between medication and food more often these days.
And yes we have become dependant not out of need but out of fear.

You had a hoot did you?

There is a pill for that.

Not to worry with Obamacare.... and isn't that the point about healthcare reform in the good ol' USA?

It is true that many people cannot afford their prescribed medications.   Greed on the part of the pharmaceutical industry is a big part of the "big picture."

At what point does an honest profit become "greed"?  How would one tell? US government supports research because of the common good. That is a benefit we seem to want to share with the world.

What does everyone think would happen if the US gov. stopped research funding  today? If it meant you would only pay for cost and a small mark-up, is that a better deal for the USA? Maybe we just sit back and hope another country is doing studies we could piggyback on?  That would make it better for everyone?

Sounds to me like that is what people think they want.

Agreed that it takes a lot of money to fund research, but profits on prescribed drugs is where the greed comes in.  Have a college friend who has his PhD in microbiology who used to work for a large pharmaceutical company and left because he could not stand the greed.  They jack the prices of prescribed medications to make huge profits.

Greed ?
How would one tell?
Please Bee, if you can't tell the difference your a part of the problem.

Government research, you mean like the effects of too much TV on the sex life of rats?

People especially well off people want to live forever, the rest of us just want to live better.

Drugs is not the way.
Government approved drugs took my son's hearing, and could have cost him his life.
While a safer alternative used in other countries is banned here by our gov, and the Pharma lobby.

.... because of the patent ticking time bomb! Yes, that is where it starts but again.... the problem becomes.... how it is determined to be too much?

If we all are covered with insurance.... as my experience indicated.... we have no idea how much these pills are really costing, we only react to what we are charged to pay.
