Beetree, would you allow Michael Vick, to post on a forum you owned, regarding his knowledge of dog behavior, training, etc?

Allowing her on his forum has nothing to do with free speech. It's about standing up for what is right and wrong vs. being an ostrich with a head in the sand and a jellyfish spine. It's not a judgement call on what BSC Bartmess has done. It's real. Truth. Fact.

There is no argument from me regarding Hans' knowledge on the GSD and his intentions on discussions for his forum. I'm not trying to bash him.

Free speech does NOT cover illegal activities. You don't get to sit around and chat about raping babies and expect to have civil rights; nor does someone who abuses animals and old people get to. It's despicable. To keep her on that forum should also be illegal. If she were ever so lame as to show up at mine, I would track her ass down and fix her right up.

I believe for Hans, FREE SPEECH is his motivation for his principle to not censure. I could be barking up the wrong tree, but I don't think so. I am not talking about myself, here.

And by the same token, anyone boycotting his forum because of another members presence, that too, is an example of someone living by their principles.

Which is why I called it a Catch-22. Hans will be a hypocrite if he starts banning people, or an abuser-supporter if he does not. It is not a black and white world, is it? Lots of shades of gray, too.

Hi Beetree,
I'd rather be a hypocrite, but that is just how I feel.

Standing up for what is right is not being a hypocrite, sitting back and letting it happen and not getting involved is.  I'd rather be a hypocrite any day over a "Libertarian."  I sent you a PM.

This has nothing to do with free speech. Free speech is something a government allows. A business,  most of the time does not allow free speech. Hans or any site owner does not have to allow a thing-and it is not a free speech issue. FREE SPEECH IS A RIGHT GRANTED BY SOME GOVERNMENTS and not something a business has to follow. While you are at work tell your boss to f off and then say FREE SPEECH. I don't think it will work and neither will you for long.

Hans supported DDR-DSH or he would have came out here and said I do not like what you did, blah, blah, blah and since he never did he supported her with silence. Why do think she is there and not here?

I believe it goes deeper than mere free speech. I would tell you what it is all about, but why should I take the abuse of some limited minded people on this forum, so I choose to let you all keep guessing.

You folks have fun discussing free speech and whether a twice accused(once convicted animal abuser) has the right to comment on a pet forum that is privately owned. It is up to the owner and is not a FREE-DUMB of SPEECH issue.

SP..you are sooo good at telling what other people think and why they do what they do, you must be psychic...or have sixth sense...do you see dead people?

No, but I have a sick sense.

So, please point out were I said what other people think? You can't so don't bother.

Does your boss know you spend your whole working day here trying to pick people up?

When I go to the hospital I know why my bill is so high, it is because people like you who are supposed to be working and here you are chasing unseen guys around a dog forum. Wonder what hubby would say?

SP, isn’t the purpose of this web site is to have some contribution to the dog world?
based on your contrubution it's none existing...i dare say you would be a lot happier on some political forum where you can debate with people on your level.... :)

How come none of the Bartmess threads have made the "Hot Topics" section on the PDB.  While other threads with fewer posts and not nearly as "hot" have?  What is the criteria for deciding what goes on the "Hot Topics?"  Just curious.
