 It's suprising how many people say to me, "You're an Atheist?  You must
have no conscience about commiting crime then."  Nothing could be further
from the truth.  In fact, if we examine the population of our prisons, we
see a very different picture:

   In "The New Criminology", Max D. Schlapp and Edward E. Smith say that two
generations of statisticians found that the ratio of convicts without
religious training is about 1/10 of 1%.  W. T. Root, professor of
psychology at the Univ. of Pittsburgh, examined 1,916 prisoners and said
"Indifference to religion, due to thought, strengthens character," adding
that Unitarians, Agnostics, Atheists and Free-Thinkers are absent from
penitentiariers or nearly so.

   During 10 years in Sing-Sing, those executed for murder were 65% Catholics,
26% Protestants, 6% Hebrew, 2% Pagan, and less than 1/3 of 1% non-religious.

   Steiner and Swancara surveyed Canadian prisons and found 1,294 Catholics,
435 Anglicans, 241 Methodists, 135 Baptists, and 1 Unitarian.

   Dr. Christian, Superintendant of the NY State Reformatories, checked
22,000 prison inmates and found only 4 college graduates.  In "Who's Who"
91% were college graduates, and he commented that "intelligence and
knowledge produce right living" and that "crime is the offspring of
superstition and ignorance."

   Surveyed Massachusetts reformatories found every inmate religious, carefully
herded by chaplins.

   In Joliet, there were 2,888 Catholics, 1,020 Baptists, 617 Methodists and
0 non-religious.

   Michigan had 82,000 Baptists and 83,000 Jews in their state population.
But in the prisons, there were 22 times as many Baptists as Jews, and 18 times
as many Methodists as Jews.  In Sing-Sing, there were 1,553 total inmates with
855 of them Catholics (over half), 518 Protestants, 177 Jews and 8 non-
religious.  There's a very interesting qualified statistic.

   Steiner first surveyed 27 states, and found 19,400 Christians, 5,000 with
no preference, and only 3 Agnostics (one each in Connecticut, New Hampshire,
and Illinois).  A later, more complete survey found 60,605 Christians, 5,000
Jews, 131 Pagans, 4,000 no preference, and only 3 Agnostics.

   In one 29-state survey, Steiner found 15 unbelievers, Spirtualists,
Theosophists, Deists, Pantheists and 1 Agnostic among nearly 83,000 inmates.
Calling all 15 "anti-christians" made it one half person to each state.
Elmira reformatory overshadowed all, with nearly 31,000 inmates, including
15,694 Catholics (half), and 10,968 Protestants, 4,000 Jews, 325 refusing
to answer, and 0 unbelievers.

  In the East, over 64% of inmates are Catholics.  In the national prison
population they average 50%.  A national census found Catholics 15%.  They
count from the diaper up.  Hardly 12% are old enough to commit a crime.
Half of these are women.  That leaves an adult Catholic population of 6%
supplying 50% of the prison population.

   Liverpool, England produces three percent as many young criminals as
Birmingham, a larger city, 28% coming from Catholic schools.

What does this tell you about parochial school systems or claims that religion
is the guardian of morals?

* Fifty-two percent of people belong to no church, yet live clean lives and  *
* supply less than 1% of the total criminal population.  So much for         *

4) Laws of Rape   (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)

 

    If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father.  Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

It will be good to go straight to book of Genesis past due with little bit of study that to begin with before we get into some these philosophy behind this because quite often theistic-evolutionists and other people want to compromise on the word of God, claim that they are getting there ideas from the word of God, from what they would say correcting interpretation of the word of God, so they think when you come to the early verses of Genesis chapter 1, you can in fact find space for millions of years that in those first few verses and I would disagree with that. I aurally reject the idea that you can fit millions of years into (Genesis 1) because one the Bible does NOT say that, in the Bible it was written to be clear.

And before we get into Genesis 1, I want to go to KJV Deuteronomy Chapter 27 verse 8, and God speaking to Moses and Moses is the man that God used to write torah, write Genesis and he says in the verse: And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly. You see Moses was instructed; this is the letter of the law but also spirit of the law, Moses was instructed to relay in clear, plain language - the word of God. He was NOT told to make a confusing or making to where ONLY thousands years later some astrophysics maybe able unwrapped for you. It is contrary to scripture for someone to say that you have to have a PhD in some modern science astrophysics to say that is how you have to understand the scripture; you know God is NOT a God of confusion, he just let a little children come, faith of the child, alright, and he tells Moses btw do this very plainly, when you relay to your people, write down clearly what it says. And so with that we go back to (Genesis 1) and when you look at that creation account, it would NOT be very clear at all if each one of these days were millions of years, no one would in the right mind – can read text and come up with that, it’s NOT there. In fact one of the things is that really absurd and I will use that language this gap theory, this idea there is millions of years between verse 1 and verse 2. I seeing some people say there are millions of years between verse 2 and verse 3, they want put millions of years in there, but let’s read really these first verses in (Genesis 1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Now, understand that the Jewish perspective coming from the Jewish publication society is torah commentary in year 1917 and that is important commentary because that is orthodox rabbinical commentary for Genesis, explains really these first 3 verses beautifully. Now in our modern language we put chapters and verses in there, well that’s a group thing; you know original Hebrew did NOT have chapters and verses; and what it’s explained by these Jewish rabbi’s is that verse 2 which is the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters; was parenthetical to verse 1, so what we mean by that is verse 1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Now when we look around us today we see land, we see trees; we see stars, moon and things like that. And so the earth and heavens we witness today is NOT the same is when it was first initially created and God made it clear then, he was being very detailed and said - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Now let me explain to you what that earth was? It was without form and void, nothing was on it and darkness was over the face of the deep and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. So that tell us wow when he first did it; it didn’t look like what’s it look like today! And then verse 3 is the conclusion to the opening thought in verse 1. So verse 3 – 5 says: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. So the idea that gap theory is crazy, it doesn’t work in any way because verse 1 in the beginning thought, there is parenthetical verse 2 and then verse 3 wraps up the beginning thought in verse 1. And so we can confirmly dispatch the gap theory. So all of this is one whole piece here, that’s what it is one thought, as it is written.

 

You know it the westernize world we have fragmentary approach to a lot of things and that’s really Greek approach. Greek approach is that there is no real truth, we are piecing things together and trying to build something. That you can’t believe anything that he said and these words are NOT true and no it was NOT in SIX days, it was millions of years, therefore entire foundation of the word of God can be tossed out and that was the foundation of evolution. What I am saying evolution is anti-Semitic religion which is absolutely true, it was made and geared keep people from the Messiah, well our messiah was Jewish, it’s geared to keep everyone from Jewish messiah, it attacks our messiah directly or head-on.

 

Also, theistic-evolutionist would need to make Genesis chapter figurative because they would need to how a days of creation being long periods of time because it’s NOT just theistic-evolutionists would say that, all old earth creationists would say too, they have to have chapter being long periods of time, the days being long days, being determine time or different lengths. Many of them jump through called hula hoops, okay; absolutely there is no space what’s so ever in any way, it is impossible to read the first chapter of Genesis in any way other than SIX literal days with the rest on the seventh, okay; what I mean by SIX literal days; six, twenty four hours periods. If you look at JPS Torah commentary which were reference earlier, its there explanations on six days, is very, very clear. Is there six periods of time there of equal length in success, one right after the other; okay, it is a morning and evening, so God is qualifying that Hebrew word “YOM” the Hebrew term “yom” is what we use for day and he goes through and God is so as it is – when he told Moses right very plainly, he did that, he goes – Moses said “yom” meaning day, then he said morning and evening and so on each day he reaped of that, redundant with the fact that these are days with the morning and evening and they are six equal units of time and that is JPS commentary very, very clear about. And we don’t have a concept of millions, millions years until secular scientists who wanted free scientists from Moses, came up with the concept that universe is millions and billions of years old, ONLY then the church people, theologians feel threatened, okay; and look Genesis and go well we need to re-determine what it says and I really think it’s about fear, people are afraid being called stupid, people are afraid to be called NOT intelligent and they wanted to be accepted by the world, but that is NOT are a lot in life, that is NOT what we are called to do, we are NOT called to be accepted by the world, we are called to be a salt and light, to be a light to the world, we should impress our faith basically on society is us, we should really engage society and change society. And again as far as Genesis concerned and what’s fascinating is the Gospel told right there in the very first verse, it fascinating; in the beginning God created heavens in the earth, created; the Hebrew word for that is “BARA” and that is the supernatural creation act, we are NOT capable bara event. Okay when God is saying that, he is saying he created something that is novel, that is unexampled, is no where to be seeing, he speaks into existence is purely by God and what is fascinating in Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. That word create in Psalms is the same word bara, so to understand what David was saying – you have to understand what Genesis was saying and it is absolutely beautiful, and so entire word of God is interconnected through the entire thing.
